The Opportunity: \n Our client, a large, complex, manufacturing multinational, is seeking a Group Project Controller to join their team in Darlington. Reporting directly to a senior Group finance leader, you'll play a key role in evaluating strategic projects, capital investments and business transformation initiatives across an international organisation. \n This is a highly visible position, offering exposure to senior stakeholders, international projects and complex commercial decision-making. You'll work closely with project and operational teams to develop business cases, challenge assumptions and help shape the future direction of the business. \n Main Duties/Responsibilities: \n\n • Develop and deliver robust business cases for strategic projects and capital investments.\n, • Build financial models including scenario planning, sensitivity analysis and investment appraisals.\n, • Partner with operational, commercial and project stakeholders to understand project requirements and assumptions.\n, • Challenge and validate financial and operational inputs to support high-quality decision making.\n, • Track project costs, savings and benefits against approved plans.\n, • Support forecasting, budgeting and long-term planning activities relating to project investments.\n, • Provide financial insight and analysis to senior leadership and project steering groups.\n, • Identify risks and opportunities associated with project delivery and expected returns.\n, • Contribute to regular project governance, reporting and review meetings.\n, • Support post-investment reviews and benefits realisation activities across the project portfolio.\n\n You Will Be/Have: \n\n • Qualified, part-qualified or qualified by experience within Finance, Accounting or Controlling.\n, • Experience gained within a manufacturing, engineering or other operationally focused environment.\n, • Strong financial modelling and analytical capabilities.\n, • Experience preparing business cases, investment appraisals or project-related financial analysis.\n, • A solid understanding of operational drivers and manufacturing performance metrics.\n, • The ability to engage, influence and challenge stakeholders at multiple levels.\n, • Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex financial information.\n, • Comfortable working with ambiguity and managing multiple priorities simultaneously.\n, • A proactive and commercially focused approach to problem solving.\n, • An interest in supporting international projects and working across a global business environment.\n\n Benefits: \n\n • Hybrid working arrangement.\n, • Exposure to high-profile international projects and strategic initiatives.\n, • Direct access to senior finance leadership.\n, • Excellent mentorship and professional development opportunities.\n, • Significant stakeholder exposure across multiple business functions.\n, • Opportunity to influence major investment and transformation decisions.\n, • Diverse and varied project portfolio.\n, • Long-term career progression potential within a growing international organisation.\n, • Collaborative and supportive working environment.\n
