My job Quality Manager (Maternity Cover) Location : Carrickmacross Contract : 15 months FTC To lead out the Quality team to ensure compliance with all internal and external standards. To drive the technical excellence agenda and be responsible for the development of the Quality Management System. To lead customer and standard audits and support the operational teams in issue resolution. Responsibilities: Build a culture of food safety and quality across the site. Reduce hazards, risks, and incidents by driving the Technical Excellence agenda. Embrace "Go for Zero" by promoting positive behaviours, root causing near misses and coaching team to manage safety in their areas. Ensure that all team members have the appropriate training and resource to do their required task in a safe manner. Track, report and improve quality & food safety performance metrics. Improve current BRC/ OPEX MS audit grades, minimum A+ or Green. Prepare team and site for unannounced audits. Ensure all internal and external Technical standards are implemented into site. Provide support and technical knowledge for factory issues to ensure resolution and root cause is identified. Lead the Quality agenda and Food Safety and Quality Culture programme for site. Deliver the requirements of the Food Defence Plan. HACCP Team Member, ensuring full implementation of HACCP and pre-requisite programme. Develop a structures plan for the team with clean succession plan goals and agreed training plans to achieve these goals. Goals to be aligned with bot site and group technical objectives Communicate regularly and ensure goals and targets are cascaded through MySucess and team forums. Reward both successes and ideal behaviours when demonstrated and address any performance issues promptly and discretely. Drive improvement in the cultural survey by addressing actions from the team. Set standards, raise standards, and confirm standard work across safety, quality, environmental and manufacture. Use data analysis to make problems visible, quantifiable and to guide decisions. Use OPEX tools to support operations in getting to root cause Deliver value for the business and for the customer Drive strong audit performance and improvement in standards. To support & assist in projects in accordance with the site goals and gap up activity timelines. Ensure compliance to Technical processes and systems (SAP, INNOVA, Foods Connected and Point 74). Deliver and measure Technical KPIs and report monthly on time Essential Criteria: Degree in Food Safety / Technology or another appropriate discipline. Experience in leading audits Working knowledge of BRC and industry regulations Experience in Technical/ Quality Excellent communication & interpersonal skills. My job We are looking for a Senior NPI Technologist to join the team at our Windmill Lane site in West London. Working as part of the Product & Innovation Team to ensure the successful launch of new products in line with customer critical paths. You will be the link between Product Development and full production. You will be responsible for projects, working alongside Development chefs through the hand over stage to product launch. You will be playing an active role in ensuring that all products are fully validated and set up to maintain product standards against customer codes of practice and Pilgrims Food Masters manufacturing standards. You will organise and lead factory trials and project team meetings with the outcomes reported to the customer and onsite stakeholders. You will be able to record and interpret complex data and make recommendations based on conclusions and results, identify any critical issues, make recommendations for improvements, measure efficiencies, yields etc and through cross-functional working relationships make sure that everything complies with quality, safety and customer expectations. You will also be a key part of project teams to deliver site targets and goals. You may also be involved in buying and trialling new processing equipment - either in support of a new product launch or to make improvements to current production processes. Responsibilities To work closely with the Product & Innovation team to deliver new products from the NPD stage through to successful product launch, ensuring that product consistency is achieved throughout. Co-ordination of product trials and pre-production runs, for preparation for a successful handover to production Take ownership of the provision of all documentation relevant to trials such as nutritional analysis, shelf-life verification & cooking validations. Ensure compliance of relevant customer policies & PFM Manufacturing standards. Liaising with the Product & Innovation Chefs, Engineering, Quality and Production teams during trials, Pre-productions and supporting the first production runs. Assist in the creation of critical paths and ensure deadlines are achieved accordingly. Responsible for the initiation of Customer Specifications and Artworks and ensures that any changes are clearly communicated to the central team. Responsible for the completion and accuracy of Customer QAS documents. Attending, when required and being the NPI representative for weekly meetings, product handovers, customer sign off panels, launch meetings & post launch reviews. Attending customer panels, particularly when in reference to factory trial approval / Launch approval. Responsible for the thermal processing validation of all relevant factory equipment as per schedule. Raising Purchase orders as and when required for departmental needs such as ingredients etc and ensuring GRNS are completed in time. Support in identifying and implementing profit improvement initiatives including alternative ingredient sourcing and trialling, line efficiency improvements and yield improvement. Use quarterly one to one review process to identify with NPI Manager, key development needs and create a plan to deliver and grow within the role. Responsible for the NPI Technologists and their training and development needs.
