    Pay: £8:00-£12.71 per hour Job Title: Childminding Assistant Purpose: To assist the registered childminder in providing high-quality care and early years education to children in a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment. The assistant will help ensure that all children have the opportunity to learn, develop, and thrive through play-based activities, personal care, and meaningful interactions. Working pattern: Tuesday and Wednesday, 08:30 to 17:30 (potential to increase to four days) Main Duties and Responsibilities: To help plan, provide and take part in play-based activities that stimulate and support children’s learning and development. To listen to, encourage and support children in their play, learning and development. To assist and support children with personal care requirements. This may include changing nappies, assisting with toileting needs, changing clothes and shoes and helping children at mealtimes. To accompany the children and registered childminder on regular trips, for example to playgroups or on other planned outings. To always abide by all policies and procedures in place within the setting and be aware of all EYFS requirements. To ensure the setting is a safe environment by following health and safety procedures and checking equipment is safe to use and age appropriate. To be aware of the setting’s Child Protection Policy and the signs and symptoms of child abuse. To be aware of emergency procedures and what procedures are to be followed in the event of an accident or incident. To be aware of infection control and ensure good hygiene standards. To ensure all administration and paperwork records are maintained as directed by the registered childminder. These might include accident / incident reports, attendance records, equipment cleaning and maintenance records and personal work time sheets. To build and maintain positive relationships with the children, families who use the service, the registered childminder and other people the service is in regular contact with, for example at playgroups, schools and play centers. To listen to, follow instructions and communicate well with the registered childminder. Any concerns or issues should be raised immediately, or the Whistleblowing / Raising Concerns Procedure followed. Any ideas or suggestions to improve any aspect of the service should be shared with the registered childminder. To always abide by the service’s confidentiality policy. All information regarding the children and families who use the service, the registered childminder and their family is strictly confidential and cannot be discussed with a third party without the registered childminder’s specific permission, or in an emergency. To undergo any induction and training procedures as requested by the registered childminder and in keeping with Ofsted/ Care Inspectorate requirements. To refresh and update training as required and take responsibility for own professional development. To assist with the preparation, serving and clearing of meals, snacks, etc. including tidying up cleaning setting after children, loading/unloading the dishwasher and/or washing dishes by hand as needed. To assist with keeping the setting clean and tidy, to include sweeping/vacuuming/mopping the floor after mealtimes and activities, and to include keeping the playroom tidy and safe for use. Assist with school pick-ups and drop-offs as directed by the registered childminder. This could mean that you stay at the setting with the children while the registered childminder does the collection/drop off, collect/drop off children on your own, or accompany the registered childminder on collection/drop off. NB: Duties may vary from day to day. We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Payroll Manager to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a key role within the business, responsible for managing payroll operations for one of our main clients, as well as supporting payroll services for other Surrey Hills Accountancy clients. The successful candidate will take ownership of the payroll function, ensuring accuracy, compliance and an exceptional service experience for both clients and employees. Job Description We are seeking a meticulous and highly organised individual to lead and manage payroll operations across our client portfolio. The ideal candidate will have extensive payroll experience, strong technical knowledge of UK payroll legislation, excellent communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism. Key Responsibilities Payroll Management • Manage and process payroll for our main client, ensuring accuracy, efficiency and compliance with all relevant legislation., • Process payroll for additional Surrey Hills Accountancy clients as required., • Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, deductions, benefits and other payroll adjustments accurately., • Confidently manage both salaried and time-sheet payrolls., • Process statutory payments including SSP, SMP, SPP, SAP and other statutory entitlements., • Complete HMRC payroll submissions accurately and within required deadlines, including RTI filings., • Ensure compliance with PAYE, National Insurance, pension auto-enrolment and other payroll-related obligations., • Generate and distribute payroll documentation including payslips, P45s, P60s and other year-end documentation., • Prepare and submit annual P11D reporting where required., • Manage payroll year-end procedures and ensure smooth transition into new tax years. Employee Benefits & Pension Administration • Manage workplace pension schemes, including monthly pension submissions and reconciliation., • Administer employee benefits including health cash plans and salary sacrifice arrangements., • Ensure deductions and employer contributions are accurately processed. Employee Records & HR Payroll Administration • Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records for new starters, leavers, salary changes and contractual amendments., • Manage employee holiday, absence and statutory leave records through the company HR software., • Ensure employee data is maintained in accordance with UK GDPR and internal data security policies. Employee & Client Support • Act as the primary point of contact for payroll-related queries from employees and client contacts., • Resolve payroll discrepancies, queries and complex payroll matters promptly and professionally., • Provide guidance to clients on payroll compliance, statutory obligations and payroll best practice. Compliance & Continuous Improvement • Keep up to date with changes in payroll legislation, tax regulations and employment law., • Ensure all payroll processes remain compliant with HMRC requirements and company policies., • Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, systems and reporting efficiencies. Qualifications & Experience • Proven experience in a senior payroll position, ideally as a Payroll Manager or Senior Payroll Administrator., • Strong technical knowledge of UK payroll legislation, PAYE, NI, pensions and statutory payments., • Experience managing multiple payrolls and varying pay frequencies., • Confident using Xero payroll software and HR management systems., • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy., • Strong organisational and time-management skills., • Ability to work independently, prioritise workloads and meet strict deadlines., • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills., • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
