The Role: ASD Teacher - Specialist Setting As an ASD Teacher - Specialist Setting in Cheltenham, you will: • Lead a class of pupils with ASD, supporting a range of communication and sensory needs, • Deliver highly structured, predictable and differentiated lessons tailored to individual EHCPs, • Implement autism-specific strategies such as TEACCH, visual timetables, PECS and structured teaching approaches, • Support pupils with communication, social interaction, emotional regulation and sensory processing, • Create a low-arousal, consistent and safe learning environment that reduces anxiety and supports engagement, • Join a specialist ASD provision in Cheltenham with a strong focus on autism best practice, • Access high-quality CPD in autism-specific strategies, communication methods and sensory integration, • Work in a structured, supportive and nurturing environment designed specifically for pupils with ASD, • Be part of a collaborative, experienced and forward-thinking team, • Develop expertise in autism education, behaviour support and therapeutic approaches We are looking for an ASD Teacher in Cheltenham who is: • Qualified with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status), • Experienced working with ASD, SLD, PMLD or ASC (or strong SEN placement experience for ECTs), • Patient, resilient, empathetic and adaptable, • Confident supporting personal care and working alongside medical professionals, • Knowledgeable in sensory strategies, communication methods (PECS, Makaton, etc.) ASD Teacher - Specialist Setting
