We're seeking a dynamic Manufacturing Facilities Engineer to lead the oversight and management of our Stockport based site. This is a pivotal role focused on ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant facilities that support high-performance production environments. You’ll be responsible for developing a forward-looking facilities strategy, managing capital projects, leading a skilled team, and driving continuous improvement across infrastructure and operations. Key Responsibilities • Develop and maintain a 3-year rolling facilities plan aligned with business goals, • Lead capital planning, budgeting, and execution of facility upgrades, • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and performance compliance, • Oversee daily operations and maintenance of manufacturing facilities, • Support production teams to minimize downtime, • Ensure compliance with defence industry safety and security standards, • Support training and development of facilities and maintenance staff, • Monitor operating costs and identify cost-saving opportunities, • Implement preventive maintenance and emergency response plans, • Liaise with regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders, • Conduct inspections and risk assessments to mitigate hazards, • Prepare RFQs, conduct contract reviews, and manage risk, • Manage contractor control processes including RAMS and PTW, • Ensure statutory HSE compliance aligned with ACOPs and best practices Qualifications & Experience • HND/HNC in a relevant engineering discipline (or equivalent), • Knowledge of regulatory standards (e.g., LOTO, PUWER), • Occupational Health and Safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA), • Proven experience delivering capital expenditure programmes, • Practical experience with CMMS systems and contractor control, • Understanding of safe contractor management practices Skills & Attributes • Confident decision-maker with strong leadership skills, • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement, • Self-motivated and proactive, • Proven ability in team development and people management, • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on safety and compliance, • Customer-focused with contract and risk management expertise

ROLE OVERVIEW: Long O Donnell are currently looking for an experienced Civil Engineer with water experience on the design side to work within a team providing reactive and small services for a large and complex water and wastewater network. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES for : • Manage the provision of a wide variety of design and engineering services., • Report on the works to the Principal Engineer, Technical Manager and in house building and construction team., • Take responsibility for the management of the reactive and small services team including conformance and compliance, including health and safety practices., • Oversee the provision of emergency engineering assistance., • Oversee construction support., • Maintain and foster positive client relationships., • Promote cohesive and constructive behaviour within the team. SKILLS REQUIRED • Experience within the water industry REQUIRED, • Design side experience REQUIRED, • A relevant third level qualification e.g. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent., • Solid experience and knowledge of the planning, specification, design, procurement and commissioning of projects., • Experience of a broad range of aspects of wastewater projects, including design of wastewater projects and its infrastructure., • Experience in MEICA design support or clean and wastewater modelling (Desirable), • Proven ability to manage and provide services with challenging timescales.
