Job Title: Principal\nSoftware Engineer \n Location: Great Baddow – We\noffer flexible working arrangements – Part time & accruing\nhours available. Please let us know if you would like to discuss\nthese options \n Salary: Up to £75,900\n(dependent on skills and experience) \n What you’ll be\ndoing: • Derive and\nmaintain a set of software requirements from a baseline set of\nsystems requirements, • Produce and maintain a\nsoftware design to meet a set of software requirements\n, • Use a software design to produce a deliverable software\nsolution, • Undertake peer reviews or\nchecking/verification of peers’ solutions across Maritime\nServices, • Undertake technical reviews, verify\nand authorise software engineering designs, • Act\nas an Engineering technical lead for a software solution at\na sub-system level, • Maintain a software\nsolution to address reported defects and/or add new\nfunctionality, • Support the development of\nindividuals and teams\nto enhance skills and competencies\n, • Good experience of using at least one high level\nprogramming language, • Considerable experience\nof using a high-level design methodology – knowledge of\nUML, • Strong experience of all aspects\nof the software lifecycle and good knowledge of software lifecycle\nmodels (e.g. Waterfall, Agile), • Have a BEng/BSc\nin Computer Science or other relevant Engineering or Numerate\nsubject (technology, engineering or science related\ndiscipline), • Have good knowledge of appropriate\nsoftware standards (e.g. ISO/IEC/IEE 12207)\n, • Knowledge of Ada95, • Have a CEng or\nequivalent level of capability or working towards CEng\nstatus, • Have a comprehensive understanding of\nconfiguration management and experience of a\nconfiguration management tool\n The Sampson Radar\nSoftware team: The Sampson Radar\nSoftware team is a 30 plus personnel group that provides support\nand capability upgrades to the Royal Navy and their products. This\nrole will deliver software products to the customer as part of a\nteam delivering enhancements over the next 10 years, as well as\nproviding ongoing support to existing products.
