Learning Support Assistant (LSA) - SEN Secondary UnitLocation: BrentwoodStart Date: After Easter HolidaysContract Type: Full-time (term-time only)Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience About the RoleWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a small, supportive SEN secondary unit in Brentwood. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people with special educational needs. You will work closely with teaching staff to support students with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. The role involves both 1:1 and small group support, helping students to access learning, build confidence, and develop independence. Key Responsibilities • Provide tailored support to students with SEN in and out of the classroom, • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons, • Support students with emotional regulation and behaviour management strategies, • Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) and EHCP targets, • Foster a safe, nurturing, and positive learning environment, • Experience working with children or young people with SEN (preferred but not essential), • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach, • Strong communication and teamwork skills, • A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs, • A welcoming and supportive team environment, • Opportunities for training and professional development, • A chance to make a meaningful impact every day Please submit your CV and a brief covering statement outlining your experience and interest in the role.
