Ad-Hoc Exam Invigilator Location: Southampton and Hampshire (various secondary school locations available) Duration: Temporary, Exam Period - May and June 2026 Job Type: Part-time, Ad-Hoc Position Summary: As an Ad-Hoc Exam Invigilator, you will play an important role in supporting the smooth and fair running of examinations across secondary schools in Southampton and Hampshire. You will be responsible for maintaining exam conditions, supporting students where appropriate, and helping ensure all exams are conducted in line with regulations. Key Responsibilities: * Set up examination rooms according to established procedures. * Verify student identity and ensure exam rules are followed at all times. * Distribute exam papers and relevant materials to candidates. * Supervise the exam room throughout, maintaining silence and preventing malpractice. * Respond calmly and appropriately to any issues or disruptions during exams. * Collect completed scripts and ensure secure handling and storage. * Report any irregularities or breaches of exam regulations to the exam coordinator. * Support students with approved access arrangements when required. Requirements: * Strong attention to detail and ability to stay alert throughout exam sessions. * Good organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively. * Clear and confident communication, with a calm and professional approach. * Reliability and punctuality are essential. * Ability to follow instructions and maintain strict confidentiality. * Previous invigilation experience is helpful but not essential. Working Hours: This is a flexible, part-time ad-hoc role during the exam period. Shifts will be scheduled in line with exam timetables and may include morning sessions, afternoon sessions, or a combination of both.
