Mechanical Maintenance Technician Wellingborough £35,000 – £45,000 (Experience Dependent) 3 days on, 2 off, 3 nights on, 4 off (12-hour shifts, 7–7) We are recruiting for a leading global manufacturer operating within a fast-paced production environment, supplying high-quality packaging solutions to major brands. The site offers a modern, well-invested facility with a strong focus on continuous improvement, operational excellence, and employee development. Responsibilities - Mechanical Maintenance Technician • Carry out fault diagnosis and repairs on mechanical and hydraulic systems across production equipment, • Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to maximise machinery reliability and efficiency, • Troubleshoot breakdowns and implement effective, long-term solutions to minimise downtime, • Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimise equipment performance (OEE), • Maintain and service site equipment, utilities, and general mechanical systems, • Work collaboratively with production teams to ensure minimal disruption to operations, • Complete maintenance records and ensure all work is carried out in line with health & safety standards, • Assist with basic electrical fault finding and repair where required Experience / Qualifications - Mechanical Maintenance Technician • Minimum Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical), • Strong mechanical maintenance background within a manufacturing or production environment, • Experience working with hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems, • Basic electrical fault-finding ability (desirable, not essential), • Proven ability to diagnose faults and carry out efficient repairs, • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, shift-based environment, • A proactive, team-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills Benefits - Mechanical Maintenance Technician • Competitive salary based on experience, • Structured shift pattern allowing for regular extended time off, • Opportunity to work within a modern, well-invested manufacturing facility, • Ongoing training and development opportunities, • Supportive and collaborative team environment, • Pension scheme and other standard company benefits For more information on this role, please contact Andy Haddon on 01453 796617, or send a copy of your CV to andrew.haddon@omegaresource.co.uk For details of other opportunities available within your chosen field, please visit _ Omega is an employment agency specialising in opportunities at all levels within the Engineering, Manufacturing, Aerospace, Automotive, Electronics, Defence, Scientific, Energy & Renewables and Tech sectors.
