Job Role: Plant fitter - Workshop Based Location: Wellingborough Basic Salary: £45,000 + Overtime - Yearly earnings of £50,000 - £55,000 Working ours: 07:00 - 17:00 - Monday - Friday My client is a major player within the construction machinery sector. They are currently looking to add a new workshop based Plant Fitter to their growing team at their depot located in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire. Key Responsibilities • Carry out PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) on new machines and fit additional parts and attachments as required., • Investigate, diagnose and resolve customer reports of technical problems with equipment., • Perform general engineering duties, including working at height and beneath/within machines., • Repair and maintain machinery using company-supplied lifting equipment., • Drive and manoeuvre machines inside and outside of the workshop., • Service a wide variety of machines within the workshop environment., • Work independently to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues., • Complete job cards to a high standard within agreed timeframes., • Complete all paperwork and timesheets accurately and promptly., • Request parts efficiently and effectively., • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external customers., • Supervise other workshop engineers when required, ensuring high-quality workmanship and safe working practices., • Provide cover for the Foreman during absence or annual leave., • Assist with booking machines in and out of the workshop., • Ensure machines are prepared and ready for transport/collection., • Follow all relevant procedures when repairing and inspecting equipment., • Ensure work and personal equipment complies with all safety standards., • Manage warranty parts returns in line with company procedures., • Comply with all company policies and procedures., • Carry out all duties in accordance with the Company Health and Safety Policy., • Contribute to the overall success of the business through teamwork and effective communication., • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and housekeeping within the workshop., • Present a professional image at all times., • Ensure personal tools are safe and compliant for use., • Use only company-supplied lifting equipment (including straps, trolley jacks, etc.)., • City & Guilds Level 2 in Plant Maintenance & Repair or equivalent, • OR recent hands-on experience working as a Plant Fitter, • Solid mechanical knowledge across diesel, hydraulics, and electrical systems, • Full UK driving licence, • Good problem-solving skills and a strong work ethic
