Advanced Diagnostics, part of dormakaba, a global leader in access solutions listed on the Swiss Stock Exchange, specializes in designing and manufacturing cutting-edge car key programming and diagnostic equipment for locksmiths and automotive technicians worldwide. \n Explore our products: https://www.advanced-diagnostics.com \n We are looking for a smart and curious individual with a passion for problem solving and software development to join our Reverse Engineering Team in Nuneaton (UK) as our new Software Engineer. \n \n Your day-to-day role will include: \n\n • Cryptanalysis of algorithms\n, • Analysis of various microcontroller architectures\n, • Using IDA Pro\n, • Logging vehicle communications (CAN Bus, K-Line)\n, • Developing C/C++ applications for our tools\n, • Using Python to develop in-house routines for vehicle communication\n, • Testing procedures on various vehicles\n, • Participating in Scrum meetings and reporting to the Scrum Master\n, • Using Jira to track tasks and activities\n\n \n Who we are looking for: \n\n • Degree in Automotive Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field\n, • Proficiency in C and embedded systems development\n, • Understanding of software development methodologies\n, • Recent graduates are welcome to apply\n, • Strong ability to learn and absorb complex information effectively\n, • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills\n\n \n Desirable skills: \n\n • Knowledge of automotive electrical systems, networks, and architectures (CAN Bus, K-Line, J1850)\n, • Experience with garage diagnostics is an advantage (ISO 15765-2/UDS, Keyword 2000, DoIP)\n, • Experience using automotive logging tools (e.g., Vector CANcase, Intrepid neoVI)\n, • Knowledge of transponder technology\n, • Knowledge of, or interest in, software and hardware security measures and vulnerabilities\n, • Experience with at least one of the following cryptographic algorithms: AES, DES, 3DES, RSA\n, • Knowledge of automotive bootloaders\n, • Cryptanalysis experience\n, • Good mathematical understanding of cryptographic algorithms\n, • Experience disassembling binary files using IDA Pro\n, • Cross-compilation experience\n, • Familiarity with assembler instruction sets for one or more of the following architectures: MC9S12(X), NEC V850E1, Renesas RH850, Intel x86, Intel x64, MPC56/57/58\n, • Knowledge of hardware side-channel attacks, including Voltage Glitching, Clock Glitching, and EMFI\n\n \n Important: \n We do not accept applications for fully remote positions.
