This is a hands-on workshop role offering long-term stability, structured hours and the opportunity to develop your technical skills in a supportive environment. You will work Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:30, with no weekend work, alongside an experienced team in a well-equipped workshop. Training is provided, and the business is committed to developing its people over the long term. The role As a Workshop Plant Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing and supporting a range of plant and mechanical equipment. Your work will help ensure equipment is safe, reliable and available when required. This is a practical, workshop-based role where attention to detail, following procedures and working safely are essential. What you will be doing You will be involved in: Carrying out mechanical maintenance, repair and overhaul work on plant equipment • Diagnosing faults and completing repairs in line with specifications and work instructions, • Stripping, inspecting and rebuilding components where required, • Completing job documentation accurately and on time, • Working to quality, health and safety and operational standards, • Supporting workshop planning and prioritisation of jobs, • Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment This role will suit you if you have: Previous experience in a mechanical, plant, workshop or technician role • Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills, • The ability to follow procedures and technical instructions, • Strong attention to detail and quality standards, • Good communication skills, • A positive, reliable and flexible approach, • Salary £30,000 to £35,000 depending on experience, • Monday to Friday working hours, 08:00 to 16:30, • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, • Two weeks paid leave for Reservists to attend annual training or camp, • Life cover at three times base salary, • Pension scheme with 3 percent employer contribution, rising to 5 percent after 12 months, • On-the-job training and career development, • Access to wellbeing support Our client is a well-established engineering and technical organisation with a strong reputation for quality, safety and reliability.
