ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER • new opening, premium Italian restaurant, Hampton Court We're opening a brand new premium Italian restaurant near Hampton Court at the end of October, and we're looking for an Assistant General Manager to build the front of house with us from day one. THE ROLE You're second to the General Manager, and on the shifts when the GM isn't in, the restaurant is yours: the floor, the team, the money, the guests. Day to day you'll be running service alongside the Head Waiter and leading the front of house team: rotas, training, standards, and the difficult conversations when someone isn't holding them. You'll handle cash up, reservations and covers, guest complaints that come past the floor, and the daily reporting. You'll be building this team from an empty room, which means the way front of house runs will be partly yours to shape. You'll report to the General Manager and work to company policy, but how the room is run night to night is something we'll build together. We have further openings planned, and this is a natural route to General Manager. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR At least two years' proven experience as an Assistant General Manager Experience in a busy London restaurant, ideally a la carte Able to take full charge of the restaurant when the General Manager isn't in Confident leading, training and managing a front of house team Strong on rotas, cash handling, reporting and reservations Able to handle a complaint properly, and to hold a standard when it would be easier not to Good English, you'll need to understand, be understood, and write clearly Available full time, shifts across all seven days The right to live and work in the UK These are requirements, not a wish list.
