The Opportunity Our Asset Management Team has a significant track record of successful delivery across the Water, Energy, and Infrastructure sectors. We support our clients to help them drive performance and realise financial and social value from their assets. We do this by working with clients in a collaborative environment to provide strategic, resilient, sustainable, and innovative solutions to their performance issues. We work with client teams and stakeholders to unlock hidden data and provide insight into the performance of their asset base, helping them to work more effectively and make systems based, informed and timely decisions. Our continued success in supporting many of the UK’s main utility providers and major infrastructure developers, brings significant growth across the group. As a result, we have a new opportunity for an Asset Information Consultant to join our Asset Management team. This role can be based in any of our offices in the UK and Ireland, with hybrid working allowing for a combination of office and home-working. As Asset Information Consultant you will work with Stantec’s clients to analyse, understand and report on the quality of their asset data and data processes, and the impact of poor-quality data on their organisation. Good quality asset data and information is fundamental to effective asset management, the operation, maintenance and disposal of civil, electrical, mechanical and data assets. It enables good decision making and delivery of an organisation’s objectives over the lifetime of the asset. Poor quality data increase risks, cost and leads to service and compliance failures. Without good quality asset data, asset management tools, digital analytics, decision making tools, digital twins and AI can-not deliver their benefits. Failure to understand data quality leads expensive wastage and to sub-optimal outcomes. Stantec recognises that understanding asset data quality, identifying risks and the benefits of data quality, improvements is a critical task for organisations the manage and maintain asset dependent processes. As well as identifying data quality issues you will identify the cause of quality issues and the business process and tools that create, use, update and delete the data. Working with the wider Stantec Team, you will investigate and determine options for data quality improvement, including action plans to meet regulatory and compliance issues, as well as longer term solutions to enable efficient, safe , compliant operation of assets. You will also help clients by developing and applying data standards and specifications to enable efficient data management, interoperability between processes and systems. About You For this Asset Information Consultant role you will need to have prior experience of working in asset management within a utility or process industry. You will thrive in a role that requires curiosity, discovery and exploration, and will be able to demonstrate the following knowledge and experience: • Experience of collecting and using asset data in a utility or process industry, • Understanding and application of asset data quality management and applicable asset management and data standards., • Understanding of asset hierarchies, naming conventions and data classification., • Experience of quality management processes ., • Good communication skills, with the ability to analyse data and produce clear summaries and reports to explain data issues and their consequences. You will have experience of working collaboratively, with a sound knowledge of current legislation, technical standards, and codes. Above all, you will be inquisitive and keen to challenge the norms.
