Please read complete ad before applying - so you understand the requirements. When contacting us please write at least a few sentence why you are applying and why you would be suitable and what your experience is. Please in your own works and not AI. Thank you. About the position Weekly hours minimum 26 hours. We are looking for someone to take on 2 regular waking nights (13hr each night shift so in total 26 hours) It would be Sunday and Monday nights or alternatively Thursday and Friday nights. These shifts are from 20.00 - 09.00 sole charge (but with parents in house). These shifts are only sole charge after extensive training. These are strictly waking nights in the family home. More weekly hours are possible often but not less hours. This position could become a full time position after the summer or in Winter if this would suit you. After successful training the rate increases from £16 to £17 per hours. Per night shift: £221 after training. Bank holidays double rate. Ideally is a self-employed position with UTR number - no PAYE. This would suit a student of a relevant health related subject. But if PAYE is required (VISA requirement then this would either be through an agency (0 hour contract or time limited contract). Candidate would need to be able to commit to 12 months minimum. About the young person who needs support: The young man needs someone to spot seizures or other health emergencies and if needed call the parents who are in the same house. The monitoring is with seizure video monitor and heart rate monitor and regular in person checks. These nights sometimes can be quite active - as if he has a seizure he might have to be accompanied via ambulance to A&E. Good written and spoken English is a must as you often would have to communicate with health professionals and write reports after each shift. All training is during the day first through shadowing. About you: This position will suit someone who ideally has already worked with autistic and disabled adults and has already experience. But it is very different from working in a care home. We would be able to train you in personal care, intermittent catheterisation, medication administration, peristeen (TAI) and positive behaviour support and other essential skills - if you are a suitable candidate. His environment will need to be kept clean and tidy (it is not a cleaner position but to ensure that his environment stays tidy, safe and fit for purpose). You will help with his laundry too. It would also involve sometimes to accompany on short holidays (in the UK) and cover at Christmas. We would prefer someone to work on a self-employed basis with a UTR number (not cash in hand). It is exactly 26 hours minimum per week. We hope to find someone who has specific interest in special needs. It is not a summer job but we hope to find someone to commit for a minimum of 12months. That's why we would prefer someone who has studied a health related subject or will study a related subject eg Psychology, nursing or similar. One would need to be strong and fit to support and keep safe someone with a movement disorder. The suitable applicant would be flexible and be able to take on extra shifts from time to time.
