Sales Executive Horticulture / Nursery Nursery-based with client visits - South & South East England Enjoy building relationships and opening up new markets? Looking for a commercially focused sales role where horticultural knowledge really matters? This is a great opportunity to join a well‑established and growing nursery supplying high‑quality plants, trees and shrubs to professional customers across the South, South East and Home Counties. You'll be joining a close‑knit sales team of around six, helping to strengthen and develop the senior sales capability of the business as it continues to grow. What's in it for you? You'll play a key part in expanding the customer base, particularly across landscapers and garden designers, while also exploring new commercial opportunities such as housing developers and building contractors. Day to day you'll be: Developing and managing relationships with landscapers, garden designers and contractors Identifying and developing new commercial customer markets Managing inbound enquiries, preparing quotations and pricing projects Visiting customers on site and hosting visits to the nursery for walks and project discussions Upselling and cross‑selling by recommending suitable alternatives where stock availability changes Attending industry trade shows throughout the year Working closely with sales administration once orders are confirmed to ensure smooth deliveryThis role suits someone who enjoys being customer‑facing, proactive and commercially minded, with the confidence to open doors rather than just maintain existing accounts. About You You'll come from a background that combines horticulture knowledge with commercial awareness. We're particularly interested in candidates with: Strong knowledge of plants, trees and shrubs Experience in horticultural or landscaping sales, or a related commercial role The confidence to advise customers and offer informed alternatives A business‑development mindset and enthusiasm for growing relationshipsYou may currently be: A horticultural sales professional Working in commercial or soft landscaping (e.g. estimator or contracts role) A grower or technical specialist keen to move into sales Working Pattern & Package Primarily nursery‑based, with flexibility to visit customers when required Some ad‑hoc working from home may be considered for the right person (not a fixed policy) No company car (mileage supported where applicable) No formal bonus or commission structure at present Open to candidates available immediately or on up to one month's notice New starters spend time on the nursery to fully understand stock, processes and operations Why Apply? Purpose Working with clients, health professionals, service providers and employers, IPS Employment Specialists are focused on making sure a person's journey into employment, with associated improved social inclusion and wellbeing is as easy as possible. You will work with clients (managing a caseload) who have mental health support needs, to assist them in securing sustainable paid employment in line with their preferences. Your role will be to deliver the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) approach (for which training will be given); providing person centred advice and guidance to clients, whilst building positive relationships with local employers to enable clients to move into suitable employment. You will work as part of a community mental health team and/or early intervention psychosis team or Improving Access to Psychological Therapy (IAPT) team, maintaining positive and integrated relationships, fostering a holistic approach to recovery through employment. As an IPS Employment Specialist, you will need to be an able communicator, passionate about getting it right and focused on transforming individual lives through sustainable solutions. This role is a peripatetic and will work the majority of time in the community or at clinical hubs. There is no/minimal home working as part of this role. You will work with people on their individual employment journey from vocational profiling to the point where they no longer require face to face in work support. The six key stages on a typical journey are: outreach/referral; vocational profiling; action planning; job search activities (including working on a one to one basis with employers to match people with appropriate employment); job placement and coordinating support whilst in employment; managing withdrawal of support as the in work support is no longer required. Essential: You will have: Experience/understanding of working with people with mental health support needs, or a similar client group within health, social services or the voluntary sector (E) Experience of working with someone on a one-to-one basis (E) Proven experience of meeting and exceeding outcomes and targets (E) Experience of managing multiple tasks at any one time (E) Previous experience of working assertively to influence decision makers (E) Experience of supporting people to obtain or keep work (E) Download the Job Description for full details.
