Role Overview To conduct detailed and apex inspections of hazardous area electrical installations in accordance with BS EN (phone number removed), ATEX/DSEAR principles, and site safety standards. The role is based on Ascension Island and involves working in a remote, industrial environment supporting critical infrastructure. Key Responsibilities Perform Detailed (Close) Inspections of Ex-rated equipment. Conduct Atex (Initial/Periodic) Inspections to verify full compliance of hazardous area installations. Inspect protection concepts including Ex d, Ex e, Ex i, Ex n, Ex t systems. Examine cable glands, terminations, earthing/bonding, and enclosure integrity. Verify equipment certification, tagging, and hazardous area classification compliance. Record and categorise defects (minor/major/critical). Produce structured inspection reports and remedial action lists. Work in compliance with site-specific safety management systems. Support engineering teams during shutdowns or upgrade projects.
