Finance Operations Supervisor\n\nKnowsley | £35,000 | Full-Time (5 Days per Week) | Office-Based\n\nWe are looking for a proactive and approachable Finance Operations Supervisor to support a small transactional finance team and ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the office. This role is ideal for someone with strong transactional finance experience who enjoys supporting others, resolving issues, and maintaining an efficient, well-organised working environment.\n\nAbout the Role\n\nAs the Finance Operations Supervisor, you will oversee a small transactional finance team, providing daily guidance, troubleshooting support, and stepping in when required-such as during staff absences or when complex queries arise. You will not be responsible for delivering accounting tasks yourself, but your finance background will enable you to support the team effectively. You will also manage the office environment, ensuring it remains organised, professional, and fully functional.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nTeam Leadership & Support\n\nSupervise and support a small transactional finance team with an approachable, open‑door style.\nAct as the first escalation point for system queries, process issues, or discrepancies.\nStep in to assist with transactional duties only when necessary (e.g., absence cover, urgent issues).\nEnsure the team remains motivated, supported, and working efficiently.\nPromote a proactive, solutions‑focused team culture.Finance Systems & Issue Resolution\n\nSupport the team with finance system queries and day‑to‑day troubleshooting.\nUse your transactional finance knowledge to help resolve: \nSupplier or customer issues\nLedger queries\nReconciliation challenges\nSAP experience is highly desirable, though strong knowledge of other finance systems is also valuable.Office Management\n\nOversee the daily running of the Knowsley office.\nManage office supplies, equipment, facilities, and contractor relationships.\nMaintain a tidy, organised, and professional workspace.\nProvide general operational support to leadership.About You\n\nStrong background in transactional finance (purchase ledger, sales ledger, reconciliations).\nExperience supervising, mentoring, or supporting a small finance team.\nCalm, proactive, and confident in resolving day‑to‑day issues.\nHighly organised with excellent communication skills.\nApproachable, supportive, and team‑focused with an open‑door attitude.\nConfident with finance systems - SAP preferred.Essential Requirements\n\nProven experience in transactional finance roles.\nPrevious supervisory or team leadership experience.\nStrong finance system knowledge.\nExcellent organisational and problem‑solving skills.Desirable\n\nExperience in an Office Manager or hybrid office/finance support role.\nExperience supporting general business operations\n\nInterested?
