Temporary Legal Assistant (2–4 Weeks) Jackson Longe Solicitors | Richmond upon Thames About Us Jackson Longe Solicitors is a dynamic, modern law firm based in Richmond upon Thames. We specialise in property, private client, probate, commercial law and notarial services. The Role We are seeking a bright and organised Temporary Legal Assistant to join our team for a short-term assignment of approximately 2–4 weeks to support our practice during a busy period. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with legal administrative or paralegal experience to gain hands-on exposure within a growing law firm. You will work closely with our solicitors and Managing Partner, assisting with practice administration, client onboarding and general legal support. Key Responsibilities Client Onboarding and Case Management • Managing client onboarding processes, including AML and compliance checks, • Opening and maintaining files on the firm’s case management system, • Handling client enquiries by telephone, email and in person, • Maintaining well-organised electronic and paper files Document Management and Quality Control • Reviewing and updating firm templates for clarity, consistency and compliance, • Maintaining the firm’s document repository with proper categorisation and version control, • Ensuring documents are accurate, professionally presented and aligned with the firm’s style, • Supporting compliance with the Solicitors Accounts Rules and professional conduct obligations General Administrative and Legal Support • Assisting solicitors with drafting correspondence and legal documents, • Managing incoming and outgoing correspondence confidentially, • Providing general administrative and practice support to the legal team, • Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the office About You • Law degree (LLB or equivalent) or relevant legal training/experience, • Previous legal assistant, paralegal or legal secretary experience preferred, • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, • Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable using case management systems, • Able to prioritise work and meet deadlines in a busy team environment What We Offer • Competitive pro-rata salary equivalent to £28,000–£30,000 per annum (depending on experience), • Office-based role in our Richmond upon Thames offices, • Supportive working environment with exposure to several practice areas Join Us If you are proactive, detail-oriented and ready to contribute to a busy legal practice, we would be pleased to hear from you. 📩 Apply with your CV and a short covering note to:
