This role drives the transition from theory to practice for stable‑coins and tokenised settlement models so they can materially improve international payment flows. The specialist will combine deep technical and operational expertise with practical experimentation to identify where stable‑coins reduce cost, friction, risk, and settlement time, and translate those learnings into scalable, regulator‑ready options for LBG. Hybrid: at least two days per week (40% of time) at a London, Birmingham, Edinburgh or Glasgow office. • Stablecoins & Cross‑Border Payments – Practical Use‑Case Leadership, • Subject‑matter expert on stable‑coins and tokenised money models., • Define, prioritise and shape real use cases across cross‑border account‑to‑account payments, FX funding and pre‑funding models, nostro/vostro liquidity management, settlement speed, cut‑off times, transparency, deductions and reconciliation., • Ground use cases in today’s payment pain points, not hypothetical future states., • Experimentation & Proof‑of‑Value, • Design and lead hands‑on experiments, pilots or structured proofs‑of‑value with internal teams and external partners., • Evaluate where stable‑coins improve on correspondent banking models, operations, controls, accounting, liquidity and intraday risk., • Assess readiness for scale within a Tier1 bank context and produce clear learning outputs., • Integration with International Payments Strategy, • Act as the stable‑coin specialist within LBG’s broader international payments strategy., • Ensure insights feed into transformation programmes, swift, instant payments and new‑rail participation, FX pricing, propositions and customer experience roadmaps., • Clarify where stable‑coins complement existing rails and where they add complexity or risk., • Risk, Regulation & Control Design, • Collaborate with Risk, Legal, Compliance, Finance and Treasury to shape regulatory models for cross‑border stable‑coins., • Define early views on controls, safeguarding, reconciliation, dispute handling and failure scenarios., • Translate regulatory developments into clear internal implications and keep experimentation compliant., • Decision Support & Investment Pathways, • Convert experimentation and market learning into clear recommendations on lead, follow or wait decisions., • Create investment options, dependency maps, realistic timelines and maturity assessments., • Provide evidence‑based options to senior decision‑makers., • Practitioner and specialist in at least one of: international payments operations & rails, stable‑coins/tokenised settlement, DLT‑based payments infrastructure, FX funding, liquidity and cross‑border treasury models., • Direct experience building, operating or integrating cross‑border payment flows., • Exposure to stable‑coin or tokenised settlement pilots (bank, fintech, scheme or infrastructure side)., • Strong understanding of real‑world banking limitations and payment processing realities., • Deep expertise in core payments value chain, including domestic/international rails, controls and servicing., • Commercial and strategic toolkit: hypothesis‑led analysis, business case development, stakeholder influence and narrative building., • Proven delivery experience turning strategy into practice., • Technical understanding to lead feature teams, experimentation and proofs of concept., • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, able to move between technical detail and senior‑level framing., • Generous pension contribution up to 15%., • Annual performance‑related bonus., • Share schemes, including free shares., • Flexible benefits that adapt to lifestyle, e.g., discounted shopping., • 30 days’ holiday, with bank holidays on top., • Well‑being initiatives and generous parental leave policies.
