The Role A global industrial technology business is looking to recruit a Sales Engineer to drive growth across the UK & Ireland. This is a field-based position combining technical sales, account management, and new business development. You will be responsible for developing customer relationships, identifying new opportunities, and delivering solutions across a range of industrial sectors. Key Responsibilities Sales & Business Development • Achieve territory sales targets and contribute to overall growth, • Generate new business opportunities and expand the customer base, • Develop long-term relationships with key clients, • Manage the full sales cycle from enquiry through to close Technical Sales Support • Provide pre-sales technical support and application advice, • Prepare quotations and proposals, • Deliver product demonstrations, presentations, and training, • Support customers post-sale to ensure successful implementation Account Management & Strategy • Maintain and grow existing accounts, • Identify opportunities to increase revenue and margins, • Contribute to market strategy and product development feedback, • Monitor competitor activity and market trends Reporting & CRM • Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasting, and reporting, • Update CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce), • Provide regular updates to internal stakeholders What You’ll Need • Degree (or equivalent) in engineering or a scientific discipline, • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Sales Engineer or technical sales role, • Strong technical understanding within industrial or manufacturing environments, • Ability to communicate complex technical solutions clearly, • Experience working with CRM systems (Salesforce or similar), • Strong organisational and reporting skills Desirable: • Experience in materials testing or quality control equipment, • Exposure to sectors such as automotive, plastics, packaging, pharma, or medical devices, • Experience with application software or system integration Additional Requirements • Willingness to travel extensively across the UK & Ireland (approx. 50%), • Flexibility for overnight stays as required, • Full UK driving licence What’s on Offer • Competitive salary, • 25 days holiday, • Pension contribution, • Life assurance, • Private healthcare option, • Enhanced family leave policies, • Clear opportunities for career progression within a global business Why This Role This is a technically focused sales role within a well-established international business.
