The Role. Account Leadership & Client Partnership • Acts as the day‑to‑day senior lead on the account, fully accountable for the end‑to‑end delivery of work across multiple projects and workstreams., • Builds and sustains trusted, senior‑level client relationships, commanding respect through expertise, sound judgement and calm authority., • Leads all client and inter‑agency calls and meetings — from routine status updates to high‑stakes, complex conversations — with confidence and ease., • Demonstrates objective diplomacy and judgement when navigating difficult or sensitive questions., • Develops deep internal respect; able to mobilise and align cross‑disciplinary teams to solve problems, unblock work and deliver outstanding outcomes. Both knows when to have peoples backs, and knows when to demand more from them., • Mentors and develops junior team members, build up their confidence, presentation skills and commercial understanding., • Holds regular team check‑ins, setting clear objectives, monitoring progress and alters the direction of things when needed., • Oversees project and production delivery, creates collaboration across departments and adherence to agency processes, while knowing when to re‑set or adapt those processes to meet the needs of the business. Strategic Leadership & Sector Expertise • Fully immersed in the client’s business, with good understanding of FMCG categories, brand portfolios, competitive landscapes and commercial challenges., • Brings a strong grasp of consumer behaviour, retail environments, innovation cycles and performance metrics typical to FMCG clients., • Actively interrogates briefs, providing a clear point of view and shaping strategic direction in close partnership with the strategy team., • Leads the development of robust, insightful and culturally relevant strategies that drive brand growth and business impact., • Confidently presents strategic thinking, performance results and optimisation recommendations to senior client stakeholders., • Brings cultural fluency and inspiration into the work, ensuring ideas feel contemporary, meaningful and impactful for mass audiences. Financial & Commercial Management • Identifies and goes for opportunities to grow the client relationship and build wider agency by in., • Owns budgets, scopes of work and forecasts, with full responsibility for account health., • Demonstrates a strong understanding of different agency fee models and applies them appropriately across FMCG accounts., • Ensures internal forecasting is accurate and up to date, proactively managing risks and opportunities linked to growth or decline., • Uses agency tools and processes to ensure accounts are run efficiently and profitably., • Flags issues early and escalates pragmatically, always focused on solutions. Creative Leadership • Leads and energises creative development, championing bold, original ideas and nurturing them through to execution and client buy‑in., • Is a strong creative ally, championing ambitious ideas and helping to ensure they remain strategically grounded and commercially effective by being the no-all link between client and creative., • Clearly articulates how creative work ladders back to the brief, objectives and broader brand strategy — particularly within fast‑moving FMCG environments., • Presents creative work with clarity, confidence and passion to senior FMCG stakeholders., • Translates client feedback into clear, constructive direction for creative teams, protecting the integrity of the work. Experience wanted. • Significant experience in a Senior Account Director (or equivalent) role within a creative & integrated agency. This is a must for us in this role., • Solid FMCG experience is very very desired, with a strong understanding of the pace, complexity and commercial pressure of large-scale consumer brands.
