The Client A leading logistics client, operating within the UK haulage and Warehouse Sectors predominantely operating across the North. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a growing national logistics business. About the Role I am seeking a highly motivated Transport Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of our busy Trafford Park operation. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in managing people, performance, and compliance within a fast-paced logistics environment. As Transport Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient, safe, and cost-effective running of the transport function, while delivering excellent service to our customers. Key Responsibilities * Lead, manage and develop the transport team, including planners, supervisors, and drivers. * Ensure legal compliance with all transport and driver legislation (including DVSA, tachograph, WTD, O-Licence). * Oversee daily planning and scheduling to maximise fleet utilisation and deliver on-time, in-full (OTIF) performance. * Monitor KPIs and implement continuous improvement initiatives to drive service and cost efficiency. * Ensure effective driver engagement, training, and performance management. * Work closely with the wider operations and warehouse teams to ensure smooth end-to-end service delivery. * Manage fleet maintenance and ensure vehicles are roadworthy, compliant, and cost-efficient. * Drive a positive safety culture, ensuring adherence to H&S policies at all times. * Support senior management with budget control, reporting, and strategic projects. About You We're looking for a driven and hands-on transport professional who thrives in a fast-moving environment. Essential Skills & Experience: * Proven experience in a transport management/operations management role within logistics. • General Haulage & Pallet Network experience (Essential) Strong working knowledge of transport legislation, compliance, and O-Licence responsibilities. * Experience managing and motivating large driver teams in a busy, multi-drop/haulage environment. * Excellent planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills. * Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance cost control with service delivery. * Confident communicator with the ability to engage at all levels. Desirable: * CPC in Road Transport Operations (National/International). * Experience working within a 3PL or large-scale logistics business.
