Their Children’s Residential Homes provide high-quality care and support to young people with disabilities and complex needs. We are now seeking caring, reliable and resilient individuals to join their passionate teams as Waking Nights Officers. About the Role As a Waking Nights Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, wellbeing and comfort of our young people throughout the night. You will work as part of a supportive team, under the guidance of the Registered Manager, to create a warm, nurturing and stable environment where young people can thrive. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of children and young people who require consistent, compassionate care. • Salary details: £28,132 + 17.5% all-inclusive allowance for unsocial working hours, • Contract Type: Permanent, part time, • Provide continuous, discreet monitoring and support to young people during night-time hours., • Maintain a safe, secure and calm environment in line with safeguarding and regulatory standards., • Carry out night-time household tasks, including laundry, cleaning and general upkeep of the home., • Complete required administrative tasks, including updating children’s files and recording observations., • Follow shift plans, work independently, and communicate effectively with the sleeping-in staff member., • Report concerns promptly and liaise with external agencies such as Social Care or the Police if a child is missing from care., • Support colleagues by providing cover during annual leave, training or sickness., • Compassionate, patient and committed to improving the lives of young people., • Previous experience working with young people., • Able to work independently during the night while remaining part of a wider team., • Confident with basic IT skills and comfortable completing written records., • Reliable, adaptable and able to remain calm in challenging or sensitive situations., • Willing to undertake training and develop professionally within the role., • Enhanced Level DBS Disclosure is required for appointment to this postWhat's on Offer, • Rota pattern including two weekends off in every four, • Membership of the South Yorkshire Pension Authority, • Overtime for hours worked over 37 paid at time and a quarter, • Access to outstanding training, development and career progression Apply now with your most up-to-date CV.
