Instrument Pipefitter Location: SunderlandSalary: Up to £39,700 per annum DOE (£20.64 per hour) + Enhanced OvertimeHours: Monday to Friday, 37 hours per weekOvertime: 1.4x hourly rate MondayFriday | 1.8x hourly rate SundaysBenefits: 25 days annual leave + Bank Holidays | Company pensionStart: ASAPThe Opportunity We are recruiting for an experienced Instrument Pipefitter to join an established and growing specialist engineering business in Sunderland.Due to increased project activity and continued growth, the business is looking to add to its existing piping team.This is a hands-on role focused predominantly on small bore tubing, non-welded pipework and hydraulic/instrumentation piping systems .Please note: this is not a fabrication/welded pipefitting position. Candidates should have practical experience of measuring, bending, forming and installing small bore or instrumentation pipework.The role will predominantly involve work from the Sunderland operation and local customer sites, with opportunities to support projects elsewhere in the UK, overseas and potentially offshore.The Role Working independently and as part of a wider piping team, your responsibilities will include:Measuring, bending, forming and installing small bore and instrumentation pipeworkManufacturing simple and complex pipe geometriesWorking with non-welded piping systemsMeasuring pipe runs and bending pipework to suit site requirementsMechanical assembly and installationMarking out and installing brackets and associated equipmentReading and interpreting P&IDs, piping schematics and engineering drawingsProducing drawings and sketches for site measurement and estimating purposesCarrying out installation work at customer sitesMaintaining and servicing associated equipmentWorking safely in accordance with company and customer H&S requirementsLiaising professionally with customers and other members of the project teamFull training will be provided on the company's specialist products, systems and equipment.What We're Looking For The key requirement is previous hands-on experience as an Instrument Pipefitter, Small Bore Tubing Fitter or similar .You should have experience in areas such as:Instrumentation pipefittingSmall Bore Tubing (SBT)Measuring, bending and forming pipe/tubingNon-welded pipework systemsReading P&IDs, schematics and engineering drawingsSite installation and measurementExperience with hydraulic pipework or hydraulic systems would be highly advantageous.Previous experience within oil & gas, offshore, energy, marine, industrial engineering or similar environments would also be beneficial.Candidates must also have:Full UK driving licenceGood understanding of industrial health & safety requirementsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong communication and organisational skillsFlexibility to work overtime and occasional weekends when requiredWillingness to travel to customer sitesPassport and willingness to travel overseas where requiredDesirable Hydraulic systems experienceOffshore BOSIETCurrent offshore medicalForklift licencePrevious offshore or international project experienceTrade Test As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to complete a practical pipefitting trade test .This will involve demonstrating the ability to accurately measure and bend pipework , ensuring candidates have the practical hands-on capability required for the position.Salary & Benefits Up to £39,700 per annum, depending on experienceBasic rate equivalent to £20.64 per hourEnhanced overtime opportunities1.4x hourly rate for applicable MondayFriday overtime1.8x hourly rate on Sundays25 days annual leave plus Bank HolidaysCompany pensionSpecialist product and systems trainingOpportunities for UK, international and potentially offshore project workThis is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Instrument Pipefitter looking for a stable, long-term position with a specialist engineering business offering varied project work, enhanced overtime and opportunities to further develop their technical experience.TPBN1_UKTJ
