Locum Band 7 Highly Specialist Physiotherapist – Community Paediatrics\n\nLocation: Sunderland\n\nStart Date: ASAP\nEnd Date: 30/09/2026\n\nWorking Pattern: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm\n(Flexible working available – part-time considered)\n\nJob Overview\n\n * We are seeking an experienced Band 7 Highly Specialist Paediatric Physiotherapist to join a well-established community children’s physiotherapy team based at Sunderland Royal Hospital.\n\n * This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled clinician to manage a complex caseload while playing a key role in service development and delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to children and young people.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * Manage an independent and varied caseload, prioritising workload to meet service demands while working autonomously\n\n * Deliver highly specialist paediatric physiotherapy assessments, diagnosis, treatment, and advice for children with complex conditions\n\n * Apply advanced clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice in all aspects of care\n\n * Take a lead role in clinical practice and service development, contributing to improvements in patient pathways\n\n * Supervise, train, and support junior staff, assistants, and students, contributing to the in-service training programme\n\n * Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, patients, families, and carers to coordinate care and support discharge planning\n\n * Maintain high standards of documentation, ensuring compliance with professional, legal, and organisational requirements\n\n * Uphold safeguarding responsibilities for children and vulnerable individuals\n\n * Ensure safe use of equipment and clinical environments\n\n * Participate in research, CPD, and continuous service improvement, maintaining high infection control standards\n\nRequirements\n\n * HCPC registered Physiotherapist\n\n * Significant experience within paediatric physiotherapy, including complex caseloads\n\n * Ability to work independently and autonomously\n\n * Strong clinical reasoning, leadership, and communication skills\n\n * Experience working within a multidisciplinary team environment\n\nAdditional Information\n\n * Long-term contract opportunity\n\n * Flexible working arrangements available\n\n * Immediate start\n\nTo apply or find out more, please submit your CV or contact us directly
