Job Title: Scheduling Planner Location: HM Naval Base, Portsmouth Service Area: Service Delivery Hours of Work: 37 hours per week Salary: up to £32,500 Security Clearance: Eligibility required What you'll be doing As a key part of our Service Centre delivery model, you’ll take ownership of planning, scheduling, and coordinating both planned maintenance and reactive activities that keep Portsmouth Naval Base operating safely and efficiently. Your focus will be on optimising resources, minimising disruption, and ensuring full compliance with statutory, regulatory, and contractual requirements. You’ll plan and schedule all service delivery tasks using our CAFM and scheduling tools, adapting quickly to changing priorities and operational demands. You’ll work closely with Team Leaders and Service Delivery Managers to ensure materials, equipment, and personnel are ready for each job — helping us hit our KPIs and first-time fix targets. By maintaining an accurate and up‑to‑date planning board, communicating effectively with stakeholders, and proactively analysing trends, you’ll make sure our operations run smoothly and deliver excellent customer service. You’ll also play an active role in continuous improvement, supporting the evolution of our planning and forecasting processes as part of a collaborative, multi‑disciplinary team. About you You’ll be a highly organised, naturally proactive planner who enjoys bringing order to complex, fast‑moving environments. Adaptable and resilient, you’re comfortable re‑prioritising at short notice and confident in communicating clearly with a wide range of stakeholders. You’ll be someone who takes pride in accuracy, structure, and efficiency — always looking for ways to improve processes, strengthen resource utilisation, and keep operations flowing effectively. Your approach is collaborative, constructive, and customer‑focused, and you thrive when working as part of a small, engaged team. You’ll have • Proven experience in planning or scheduling within a complex operational, engineering, or service delivery environment., • Familiarity with CAFM systems and/or ERP scheduling tools., • A solid understanding of technical specifications and safe systems of work., • Experience working in compliance‑driven environments (e.g. MOD or other safety‑critical settings)., • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build open, honest, and effective working relationships., • Strong organisational skills, a self‑motivated approach, and high personal standards., • The ability to analyse operational data, adapt plans quickly, and support continuous improvement across scheduling processes.
