Key Responsibilities • Design and develop products from concept through to production., • Provide innovative, practical solutions to mechanical design challenges., • Prototype, test, and refine designs before production release., • Research new materials, technologies, and manufacturing processes., • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, internal departments, and suppliers., • Create concept designs based on customer requirements., • Design components using manufacturing techniques such as:, • Plastic injection moulding, • CNC machining (plastics and metals), • Sheet metal, • Vacuum forming, • Aluminium and plastic extrusions, • Build and evaluate prototypes., • Liaise with suppliers to optimise designs for manufacture., • Produce product costings and Bills of Materials (BOMs)., • Draft drawings and associated documentation., • Write engineering change notes to release products into production.
