Main area Haematology Grade NHS Medical & Dental: Consultant Contract Permanent Hours Full time - 10 sessions per week (On‑call 1 in 4) Job ref 262-A-24-6640127-A Site Cumberland Infirmary Town Carlisle Salary £113,565 - £150,569 per annum Salary period Yearly Closing 07/07/2026 23:59 We are looking for a dynamic and motivated Consultant in Haematology to join our friendly and enthusiastic team at the North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust (NCIC). An enthusiastic and forward‑thinking consultant will work within a supportive team covering North Cumbria. Applicants must hold valid registration with the GMC and be on the Specialist Register. Full‑time or part‑time (if eligible) positions are available. The post will be based at the Cumberland Infirmary but will cover West Cumberland Hospital as an integrated service. The successful applicant will complement our team of haematologists and nurses, providing level 2A Clinical Haematology care for NCIC patients. The team currently includes Consultant Haematologists based at Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle Monday to Friday, with on‑call cover provided as a joint rota through an SLA with neighbouring Trusts. We have a strong nursing and administrative team supporting the medical team. There are Haematology laboratories on both sites and outpatient facilities on both sites. Clinical leadership is provided by Dr Roderick Oakes. Oncology, parenteral chemotherapy and radiotherapy services are co‑located via Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Due to changes to the UK immigration policy, individuals requiring a Health and Care Visa or Skilled Worker Visa may not be eligible for sponsorship if the UKVI salary threshold is not met or the occupation is not in the updated Immigration Salary List (ISL).
