Temporary Works Coordinator Cumbria Salary: £65,000 - £70,000 + £5,750 Car Allowance 40 Hour Working Week Red Sky Personnel are supporting a leading international infrastructure contractor delivering a major long-term civil engineering framework in Cumbria. This is an excellent opportunity to join a flagship infrastructure programme valued in the billions, delivering a wide range of civil engineering projects within a highly regulated and safety-critical environment. The programme includes roads, bridges, foundations, enabling works, security infrastructure and the upgrade and replacement of existing site infrastructure. With an initial programme duration of 9 years and potential extension beyond this, the role offers exceptional long-term stability, career progression and involvement in some of the UK's most significant infrastructure works. The Role We are seeking an experienced Temporary Works Coordinator to support the safe planning, coordination and implementation of temporary works across multiple civil engineering projects. Working closely with design, engineering and site delivery teams, you will ensure all temporary works activities are carried out in accordance with BS5975, company procedures and project requirements. Key Responsibilities Coordinate temporary works schemes with permanent works design teams. Review and prepare temporary works design briefs and associated documentation. Ensure temporary works designs adequately reflect site conditions and project requirements. Manage both internal and external Temporary Works Designers. Coordinate temporary works interfaces with permanent works designers. Review temporary works loading requirements and design assumptions. Carry out inspections and sign-off of temporary works installations. Issue permits and approvals in accordance with project procedures. Ensure temporary works registers, records and documentation are maintained. Support and mentor Temporary Works Supervisors and site teams. Ensure compliance with BS5975 and project temporary works procedures. Support training and development of project teams in temporary works best practice. Review and communicate updates to relevant industry standards and guidance. Requirements HNC/HND or Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline. Previous experience as a Temporary Works Coordinator, Temporary Works Designer or Temporary Works Supervisor. Minimum 10 years' post-graduate civil engineering experience. Strong understanding of BS5975. Experience working on major infrastructure or civil engineering projects. Knowledge of CDM Regulations and Principal Contractor responsibilities. Competent in the use of relevant engineering and design software. Membership of a recognised professional institution is desirable.
