The Shell retail network includes display and backup refrigeration units (generally under 10 years old, gas charge under 5kg). Units mostly consist of two display units running from a single remote condenser. Some larger stores have small pack inverter-driven units. All stores have at least one integral refrigeration unit (backup or display). Air conditioning systems are usually 12kW split systems with ceiling-mounted cassette units. Normal working shift is 40 hours split over 5 shifts from 8:00 to 16:30 (half-hour meal break to be taken on shift) Monday to Friday.
