25 hours per week, term time only \n Pro Rata £16,200 - £17,150 \n Monday to Friday, 5.30pm - 10.30pm \n We are seeking a reliable, enthusiastic and proactive Site Assistant to join a welcoming site team within a lovely school. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining safe, clean and welcoming environments and enjoys a varied role where no two days are the same. \n About the Role \n As Site Assistant, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operation, security and upkeep of the school site. Working closely with the Senior Site Manager, you will help ensure that pupils, staff, visitors and contractors benefit from a safe, secure and well-maintained environment. \n Key Responsibilities \n\n • Act as a key holder and open or lock the school premises as directed.\n, • Welcome facilities hirers and support check-in procedures and equipment setup where required.\n, • Receive deliveries and distribute goods and equipment throughout the school.\n, • Set up and clear furniture for events and undertake general porterage duties.\n, • Maintain the cleanliness, safety and appearance of external areas, including litter removal and gritting during adverse weather.\n, • Carry out routine maintenance and minor repair work across the site.\n, • Report building, furnishing and equipment defects requiring specialist attention.\n, • Identify and report health and safety concerns.\n, • Supervise school gates and help prevent unauthorised access.\n, • Escort contractors on site, monitor compliance with school procedures and report any concerns.\n, • Contribute to cleaning duties and support the overall presentation of the school.\n, • Remove graffiti and chewing gum from school premises when required.\n, • Respond promptly to site requests, including those received through the site team inbox \n, • Support school events such as Parents' Evenings and Celebration Events.\n, • Monitor parking permits and promote the safe and appropriate use of the car park.\n, • Undertake patrols of surrounding streets associated with school parking arrangements.\n, • Assist in emergency situations including fire, flood, break-ins and other incidents.\n, • Carry out other reasonable duties commensurate with the role.\n\n Essential \n\n • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.\n, • Ability to maintain a safe, positive and healthy environment.\n, • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.\n, • Understanding of and commitment to safeguarding, health and safety procedures.\n, • Ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues and visitors.\n, • Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.\n\n Desirable \n\n • Experience of building or grounds maintenance.\n, • Practical DIY skills, including painting, decorating and minor repairs.\n, • Experience using basic power tools.\n, • Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook \n\n If you are interested in the role, please do apply or contact our Staines office \n
