Primary Function Ignite Your On-Set Career as a Camera/Lighting Assistant in our dynamic London-based team. You will provide essential, hands-on support to the Director of Photography (DOP) and Sound team, playing a vital role in the seamless execution of video productions. Leveraging foundational technical skills, you will focus on the practical, on-set logistics of camera, lighting, and grip equipment, contributing to our mission to deliver awe-inspiring digital experiences across studio and on-site productions. In this entry to a mid-level technical role, you’ll work closely with a variety of video and lighting equipment, including cine, mirrorless and mobile cameras. Your focus on proactive, hands-on support and assisting with technical preparation will be crucial as you collaborate with clients and internal teams, demonstrating exceptional teamwork and the ability to rapidly adapt to creative and technical direction. Duties & Responsibilities • Report directly to the Technical Video Production Supervisor, • Provide essential, hands-on assistance for all camera, lighting, and grip equipment on diverse video projects, from small-scale productions to premium level TVC type content., • Execute the safe and efficient rigging and de-rigging of technical equipment, including lights, stands, and grip gear, as directed by the DOP., • Perform data wrangling duties, including media management, secure data ingest, transfer, and organization from various camera systems., • Support the DOP and Camera department with crucial operational tasks:, • Camera preparation (cam prep) and maintenance., • Position lights, stands & modifiers to achieve desired results, • Maintaining a safe & tidy set at all times, • Managing and charging camera and lighting batteries., • Slating/logging takes., • Organizing and managing camera media., • Assist the Sound department with cable management and light set-up support when required., • Provide support with props and set dressing as directed by the creative production team., • Operate additional camera for multi-cam setups or Behind-The-Scenes (BTS) content capture., • Adhere to Health and Safety policies, promoting a positive safety culture in all studio and on-location areas., • Assist with the transport and setup of video, lighting, and audio equipment as needed., • Take direction and adapt quickly with senior crew, stakeholders, and production team members., • Manage equipment inventory and report as required by the Technical Production Supervisor., • Demonstrate enthusiasm and a proactive approach, prioritising workloads and meeting deadlines individually and as part of a team. Skills & Qualifications • Strong technical aptitude for media management, data wrangling, and basic camera/lens preparation., • Familiarity with production equipment and video file formats, with a core understanding of data ingest and transfer., • Demonstrable ability to work quickly and accurately under tight deadlines and pressure in a client-focused environment., • A growth mindset, an eagerness to learn, and adaptability to change., • An excellent communicator with good written and spoken English who can remain calm under pressure., • An ability to travel when required., • A social-first mindset is essential. Education & Experience • Relevant experience (1+ years) in a hands-on camera, lighting, or production assistant role and comfortable with on-set etiquette., • Familiarity with digital cinema cameras and professional lighting equipment, including rigging techniques, grip tools (flags, arms), and camera components., • Experience working in a studio and/or on-location production environments with proven examples of previous work to share.
