The Ideal Candidate Will Have Previous experience as a Caretaker, Site Assistant, Maintenance Operative or Facilities Assistant. Good practical knowledge of general building maintenance and repairs. Ability to identify and resolve maintenance issues efficiently. Understanding of workplace health and safety practices. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to manage workload effectively and work independently when required. Reliable, flexible and proactive approach to work. Basic IT skills for communication and record-keeping. A professional and approachable manner when dealing with staff, students, visitors and contractors. Desirable Qualifications & Experience Previous experience working within a school, academy or educational environment. Enhanced DBS subscribed to the Update Service. Health & Safety qualification such as IOSH Working Safely or equivalent. Experience carrying out basic trade tasks including carpentry, plumbing, decorating or general DIY. Knowledge of safeguarding procedures within schools. Experience supporting building compliance and site inspections. Experience working with contractors and external maintenance providers.
