SEND - Various Roles Rotherwood Education are currently recruiting for dedicated and enthusiastic SEND staff to join a well-established and supportive Secondary school in the Nelson area. The roles are full time, 5 days per week, and due to start in September 2026 and is are ongoing. Role 1 - Position Details: Job Title: SEND Class Teacher Location: Nelson, Lancashire Start Date: September 2026 - Ongoing Contract Type: Full-time, 5 days per week Daily Rate: £168.80 – £215.68 per day (dependant on experience) About the Role: • Teach across the full SEND ability and age range, with specific remit to teach KS3, KS4 and KS5 pupils in different subject areas, maximising pupil potential., • The position would suit candidates who have the skills to teach different subjects at KS3, KS4 & KS5 in our SEND school following a Primary curriculum., • Work with a team of support staff to deliver effective teaching and learning in a calm and organised space., • Bring learning to life through creative, motivating and inclusive learning experiences to ensure strong progress for every child., • Set challenging yet accessible learning tasks that stimulate curiosity and engagement., • Help pupils re-engage with learning, build confidence, develop regulation and make meaningful academic and personal progress from their starting points., • Reflect thoughtfully on their practice, using evaluation to continually improve teaching and learning. The Ideal Candidate Will: • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or an equivalent teaching qualification, • Be confident in planning and delivering creative and inclusive lessons, • Demonstrate excellent classroom management and communication skills, • Be committed to inspiring young people and improving outcomes for all learners, • Be committed to the safeguarding of children and young people, • Provide details of last 2 latest references, covering the last 5 years’ work history, • Possess a current DBS check or be prepared to apply for one as part of your registration, • Be willing to complete a face to face registration and satisfy several checks Role 2 - Position Details: Job Title: SEND HLTA Location: Nelson, Lancashire Start Date: September 2026 - Ongoing Contract Type: Full-time, 5 days per week Daily Rate: £95 – £105 per day (dependant on experience) About the Role: • Plan and implement learning activities for individuals and groups under the general supervision and direction of the teacher., • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to the class teacher and establish supportive and constructive relationships with pupils, parents and carers., • Provide short term cover for classes to which the Teaching Assistant is normally assigned, when the class teacher is unexpectedly unavailable., • May be required to undertake intimate/personal care duties, moving and handling, and supporting children with medical conditions and complex needs., • Assist the delivery of educational and developmental work programmes., • Support the use of ICT in learning activities. The Ideal Candidate Will: • Hold NVQ level 2 or above qualification –appropriate to the post (or equivalent)., • Hold Level 2 or equivalent qualification in English/Literacy and Mathematics/Numeracy., • Be confident in planning and delivering creative and inclusive lessons., • Have experience of working with or caring for children of relevant age and working in a relevant classroom/service environment., • Have experience of Administrative work., • Have knowledge of Early Years Foundation Stage., • Have experience of supporting pupils with challenging behaviour., • Be committed to the safeguarding of children and young people., • Provide details of last 2 latest references, covering the last 5 years’ work history., • Possess a current DBS check or be prepared to apply for one as part of your registration., • Be willing to complete a face to face registration and satisfy several checks. Role 3 - Position Details: Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant x 2 Location: Nelson, Lancashire Start Date: September 2026 - Ongoing Contract Type: Full-time, 5 days per week Daily Rate: £90 – £100 per day (dependant on experience) About the Role: • Support learning activities under the general supervision and direction of the teacher., • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to the class teacher and establish supportive and constructive relationships with pupils, parents and carers., • May be required to undertake intimate/personal care duties, moving and handling, and supporting children with medical conditions and complex needs., • Support the use of ICT in learning activities.
