Description Key Duties: • Manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring deadlines and service standards are met, • Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements and management accounts, • Supervise delivery of tax compliance work, including VAT and corporate reporting, • Act as the main point of contact for clients, responding to queries and providing guidance, • Review work completed by junior staff, offering feedback and technical support, • Support the planning and execution of more complex assignments, • Monitor workflow, budgets, and billing to ensure commercial objectives are achieved, • Identify areas where additional services could benefit clients, • Contribute to team development through mentoring and day-to-day oversight, • Work closely with senior leadership to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery Profile Business Services Assistant Manager Credentials: • ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent), with strong technical grounding, • Previous experience within a UK accountancy practice environment, • Solid background in accounts preparation and tax compliance work, • Experience handling more complex client structures, including groups, • Confident dealing directly with clients and managing relationships, • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively, • High attention to detail and commitment to delivering accurate work, • Commercially aware, with the ability to understand client needs, • Proactive approach, with confidence to suggest improvements, • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, • Team-oriented, with the ability to support and collaborate with colleagues Desirable: • Experience mentoring or supervising junior team members, • Confidence reviewing work and providing technical feedback, • Familiarity with cloud accounting software such as Xero or QuickBooks, • Interest in contributing to process improvements and operational efficiency Job Offer Financial Details and Benefits: • Competitive salary between £38,000 and £42,000 per annum., • Standard working week of 37.5 hours (Mon-Fri) with flexibility, • Office-based in Newport with occasional client exposure, • 30 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays), • Life assurance at 2x base salary, • Company pension scheme, • Paid ICAEW / ACCA subscriptions, • Access to an on-site gym, • Free parking available onsite, • Opportunities for professional growth and career advancement., • Supportive and collaborative work environment in Newport., • Potential for additional benefits to be discussed during the recruitment process.
