We are looking for an experienced sous chef to work diligently with our existing excellent kitchen team under the guidance of our executive chef. You will need to be passionate, professional and genuinely interested in and committed to helping us, the owners of a well established and popular daytime only vegetarian and vegan cafe/restaurant, literary and antiques space in Camden to deliver and continuously evolve our seasonal food offering to our loyal and many new customers. This is an exciting period of growth and we are looking for the right fit. You will need to be super passionate about food and ingredients, their seasonality, sourcing and provenance, the creation and presentation of dishes as well as be driven by consistency, precision and exacting standards. You will be able to help manage the kitchen operation by working closely with the owners and our current kitchen team and be happy with sharing and the responsibility of running our kitchen. We occupy a truly unique space for London, overlooking a 40 year old award wining social enterprise garden centre and we are continually looking to build on existing high levels of customer experience, quirk and professionalism. We were recently named by The Observer food magazine as the number two venue for breakfast in the UK and we want someone who is excited about building on these credentials. We are based in Harrow on the Hill and the markets currently are at Queens Park, Primrose Hill, Marylebone, Kensington , West Hampstead and Islington The job includes : Picking up the market equipment and stock in the morning of the market (Harrow) Traveling to the destination market Setting up the stand Chatting to the customers and explaining the products (full training given) Taking payments when products are sold Closing down the stand (takes only five minutes) Returning the stand and left over stock to base (Harrow) Trading hours are 10am - 2pm (with a little bit of set up time and breakdown time each side) It is really helpful if the applicants live in the Harrow area but not essential as they will need to drive to Harrow to pick up the equipment needed. £100 plus commission for a really fun short day.
