Role Summary We’re looking for an experienced Lead Full Stack Developer (.NET) to provide hands-on technical leadership within a small, high-performing development team. You will work closely with our Software Architect and developers to design, build and evolve mission-critical healthcare systems. This role stays close to the code and carries responsibility for technical quality, delivery outcomes and ensuring that implementation aligns clearly with architectural intent from idea through to production. Our current landscape includes legacy .NET Framework systems, but our strategic focus is on replacing these platforms with a fully distributed, modern architecture built using contemporary .NET and cloud-native approaches. We are also in the early stages of introducing AI-assisted and agentic coding practices. Alongside the Software Architect, you will help evaluate, adopt, and embed these tools responsibly to improve productivity, consistency and quality while maintaining appropriate controls for regulated environments. This role is primarily hands-on and focused on technical delivery and leadership. Line management responsibilities will not apply initially. Once the successful candidate is settled in the role and has passed probation, we expect this position to take on line management responsibility for a small number of developers Why Join Us? • Fully remote role with flexible working, • Personal development plan with dedicated training budget, • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, and your birthday off, • Enhanced maternity and paternity pay, • 4 percent employer pension contribution, • Access to wellbeing apps, • Government working from home allowance, • Paid out-of-hours developer support rota once onboarded, • Work on a product used internationally, supporting healthcare systems across multiple countries, • The opportunity to build technology that directly improves patient outcomes Duties and responsibilities • Design, build, and maintain modern, scalable applications using .NET, C#, and Blazor., • Delivering features end to end, from concept through to production., • Collaborating closely with the Software Architect to align implementation with architectural intent., • Translating designs into clear, maintainable, production-ready code., • Mentoring developers through code reviews, pairing, technical guidance and collaborative problem solving., • Identifying technical risks, constraints, gaps, and uncertainties early and resolving them proactively., • Championing engineering best practices, security, and quality standards., • Helping embed AI-assisted and agentic coding practices into everyday development workflows., • Working effectively in a remote environment., • Participate in a paid out-of-hours developer support rota once fully onboarded Key Skills Essential Technical Skills • Strong commercial experience with .NET and C#., • Proven experience working with legacy .NET Framework applications., • Strong experience delivering modern .NET (6+) solutions., • Solid understanding of distributed systems and modern software architecture., • Demonstrated ability to deliver independently from start to finish., • Transparency in identifying knowledge gaps and sourcing the right information., • Clear communication, proactive problem-solving, and a focus on delivering tangible value.
