Jackson Hogg are delighted to be supporting a growing and highly respected marine and offshore engineering consultancy based in Blyth, who are looking to appoint a Senior Engineer. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity offering the chance to play a key role in delivering complex offshore and marine engineering projects, providing technical leadership, assurance, and hands-on engineering support across a diverse project portfolio. Responsibilities: • Act as the technical authority across projects, ensuring engineering solutions are safe, compliant, and fit-for-purpose., • Lead and oversee engineering activities including structural design, motions analysis, lift planning, and method development., • Review and approve engineering calculations, reports, and technical documentation in line with industry standards and company procedures., • Identify, assess, and mitigate technical and operational risks throughout the project lifecycle., • Provide technical input into tendering, planning, and project execution, supporting both project and commercial teams., • Attend technical reviews, client meetings, site visits, and offshore/onshore operations when required., • Deliver practical, real-time problem solving during live operations and high-risk activities., • Mentor and develop junior engineers, setting expectations around quality, accountability, and engineering best practice., • Support continuous improvement of engineering processes, tools, and methodologies., • Act as a key technical interface with clients, suppliers, and third parties, representing the business at a senior level. Requirements: • Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture or a related engineering discipline., • Proven experience delivering complex engineering solutions within marine/offshore environments., • Strong hands-on experience with:, • ANSYS (or equivalent FEA software), • OrcaFlex for static and dynamic marine analysis, • Solid understanding of , Structural and stress analysis, • Experience producing and reviewing Engineering calculations and report, • Strong knowledge of relevant standards (DNV, ISO, API, BS, EN), • Experience supporting live operations, including high-risk or time-critical activities., • Confident communicator, able to engage with clients, marine warranty surveyors, and third parties., • Proven ability to mentor and support engineers., • Full UK driving licence. Highly Desirable: • Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards chartership., • Experience in Offshore cable installation, Heavy lift and transport engineering or Marine operations., • Exposure to international projects and regulatory environments.
