    The primary role of our support workers is to make a difference to the lives of the young people residing in our homes. You will work on goals to assist them to live a happy and fulfilled life and one that teaches independence, promoting education and ensuring their health and well-being. We believe in engaging Young People in all aspects and decision in their lives, by working together we enable them to be in control of their future. You’ll work with a tight-knit team of colleagues to build a relationship and trust bond with the young person living at the home. You’ll be supporting them in overcoming their previous trauma and learning to trust in adults again, along with the help and guidance of your colleagues. For you, we offer support and guidance for development into managerial positions. We work with you to plan a development pathway for your career. We also offer routes to specialise in education or health. You will be working alongside either our qualified teacher specialising in behaviour management or a registered nurse and health/wellbeing manager with a master’s in public health. We have a plethora of options available that are tailored to your goals. Key responsibilities • Engage in activities with the young people both inside and outside the home., • Promote and deliver the FEVACA education and health pathway with young people., • Build meaningful relationships using relationship-based practice to ensure all young people are protected from harm and/or abuse., • Promote independence by involving the young people in planning their lives and support them in decision making for their future., • Complete detailed and accurate daily records for the home and young people., • Support young people during key stages of their placement such as admission and discharge., • Develop good working relationships with third party professionals such as police, social workers and schools as well as the families., • Engage in FEVACA’s extensive training program to develop your skills and progress to advanced roles., • Maintain the standard of the home to make it a warm and loving environment. Shift patterns are flexible and do vary based on the need of the home, our usual shifts can include 9am - 10pm followed by a sleep-in. These will be across Monday – Sunday.
