American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Chandler, Arizona. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 01/05/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Work in the Telemetry Float Pool within an acute care, Level 1 trauma hospital, • Float between all Telemetry and MedSurg units, including occasional floats between two campuses 9 miles apart, • Units include CV Tele, Neuro Tele, and multiple MedSurg areas with varying patient populations such as post-cath lab, post-vascular, neuro post-surgical, ortho, surgical, and oncology, • Typical patient ratios are 1:3-4 in Tele, 1:4 in MedSurg units, • RNs must be able to interpret EKGs and titrate specific cardiac drips, • Uses Cerner EMR and GE Monitors in some units, • 12-hour night shifts, 7-7, with 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule and requirement to work 2 of 3 major holidays, • Centralized telemetry monitoring and teamwork with charge nurses, supervisors, and PCTs, • Provide care to adults 15 years and older with a mix of cardiac, neuro, surgical, and medical needs, • RNs may float to higher or lower acuity units based on skill level, including occasional mid-shift campus changes, • Team structure includes charge nurses without patient assignments, clinical supervisors, and dedicated PCTs, • Floor-specific orientation provided (2 days per Tele/MedSurg unit), • Scrub color is navy, • Must pass both pre-assignment and day-one clinical assessments to continue assignment, • COVID and flu vaccinations may be required per hospital policy, • No pediatrics or OBGYN patients, • First-time travelers are considered\n \n Requirements\n, • Active RN license (State or Compact) required at time of consideration, • At least 2 years of recent acute care telemetry experience, • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, • Ability to titrate cardiac drips and interpret EKGs, • Must pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to contract signing (maximum 2 attempts), • Must pass a simulation lab on day one of orientation, • Specific documentation required: driver's license, 2 references (1 supervisor from past 12 months, 1 peer or supervisor from past 3 years with employment dates and rehire eligibility indicated), • May not have been employed directly by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health in the past year\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
