We are currently seeking a full-time Level IV Interior Designer in our Rochester, NY office. This position leads Interior Design services on project teams and reviews/advises/provides design solutions, including interior space/spatial relationship analysis and aesthetic/functional requirements in support of the design intent that protects the health, safety, and welfare of our clients. The incumbent will also work to enhance/define aspects of project through spatial analysis, color, finish, furniture, lighting recommendations, special design features and furniture layouts. They will be responsible for delegation/completion of interior documents and expected to seek new and maintain existing client relationships. Applicants for this position must have experience in education, municipal, commercial, industrial and/or multi-unit/multi-use housing based projects or their application may not be considered. Duties: • Manages Interior Design projects (including budget, fee, scope, client goals, milestones and deadlines). Leads Interior Design services on Architectural projects. Client contact from Interiors, • Reviews product and material research to ensure durability, wearability, maintenance, installation requirements, etc., • Prepares budget estimates for interior finishes and furnishings, • Produces/delegates project documents (including CAD production), schedules and specification information for interior building construction, materials and furnishings per SWBR standards. Reviews interior documents for accuracy, thoroughness/completion • Understands and implements contracts and applicable AIA agreements, • Prepares interiors fee estimates, hours, letter proposals, resource plans, including consultants, • Works with Business Development to prepare qualification packages, • Oversees preparation of material boards, power points, 3D renderings, sketches, • Leads in-house interiors project meetings, including consultants, • Leads (or guides designers to lead) client meetings/presentations, will engage in working directly with client, • Reviews/processes or delegates submittals, leads punch lists, • Answers/delegates requests for information (RFI) and architect’s supplemental information (ASI), • Understanding the documentation for extra services – Professional Services Change Order (PSC) vs follow up email/additional services proposal, • Prepares Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) cost estimates for projects, • Review financial reports from projects they are involved with, responsible for interiors hours, distribution of hours and fee, • Reviews project invoices, follows up with clients for aged receivables, outstanding invoices, • 4 Year College degree in Interior Design or Architecture, • 8-15 years of related experience in a commercial-based Interior Design firm required. Experience with Education, multi-unit/multi-use housing, Commercial, Municipal, and/or Industrial projects needed., • NCIDQ Certification required, should have good-to-exceptional LEED V4 Knowledge Base., • Advanced knowledge of interior finishes & materials (flooring, wall, ceiling, specialty, upholstery, window treatment, etc.), • Advanced knowledge of color theory, pattern/texture with materials and finishes, • Advanced knowledge of interior building codes, • Knowledge of standard vs premium products including content, durability, and maintenance., • Has experience with reviewing documents for required contents, thoroughness and completion during schematic design, design development, construction documents, permit sets, etc •, • Knowledge of/ability to enact Professional Service Change Orders and proposals for additional services, • Advanced knowledge of furniture (styles) – available finishes and upholsteries., • Advanced proficiency in Revit, Word, Excel, Power Point, Sketch Up, Photoshop, Illustrator, 3D color renderings, other programs plus ability to help and/or teach other designers as needed, • Individual will work in a normal office setting and occasionally visit active construction sites, and must be physically able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and keyboard., • Position requires occasional lifting, pulling and pushing of up to a maximum of 25 pounds Base Salary Information: $74,247-$89,482 The above salary ranges represent a good faith range for incumbents of this position. Actual offers will be based on experience, education level, and demonstrated skills and will be at the discretion of the employer.
