Job Description Position Summary The Associate General Counsel (Aspire Non-QM Business) will provide legal support to the Redwood Trust’s Aspire Non-QM Banking Business (including capital markets, whole loan trading, securitization, mortgage loan servicing, regulatory compliance, investment portfolio and business development teams), with a strong focus on drafting and negotiating complex contracts for the purchase and sale of residential mortgage loans. In addition to helping with minutes and administrative tasks, a portion of your time will be spent responding to incoming subpoenas, legal demands, and regulatory and litigation investigations. You will work closely with two other legal administrators who are foreign attorneys, and the team is overseen by a US attorney. Responsibilities: • Coordinate and participate in Board/Committee meetings and produce meeting minutes., • Manage intake of subpoenas and other legal requests and oversee applicable deadlines., • Work with business lines and IT to obtain and organize responsive materials to subpoenas., • Perform other duties as assigned by the Legal team attorneys. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Ability to process meeting information quickly and transcribe relevant information in an organized and succinct manner., • Attention to detail., • Ability to work independently as well as being a team player., • Microsoft Word and Outlook skills., • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Education, Training, and Experience: • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience., • 2+ years of experience in an equivalent role is preferred, • In addition to work experience, JD or LLM is preferred but not required.. Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 K / year "Base salary range does not include performance-based bonus and/or other benefits, where applicable.
