Job DescriptionJOB TITLE: Community Liaison (Full Time) FLSA: Non- Exempt DIVISION: Employment Services Dept. REPORTS TO: Assistant Director of Employment Services LOCATION: New Rochelle, NY SALARY: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 (annual) Job Summary: Under the supervision of the Assistant Director the Community Liaison’s primary is Employment Support & Barrier Mitigation is a pivotal role dedicated to bridging the gap between the organization and the community, with a focused mission to promote sustained employment, reduce job-loss risks, and connect individuals to critical workforce resources. This role serves as both advocate and connector, ensuring that underserved and at-risk community members have the support, knowledge, and access required to gain and maintain meaningful employment. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Community Relationship Building • Establish and maintain trusted relationships with job seekers, employers, local service providers, and community leaders., • Conduct intake assessments to identify employment barriers such as lack of transportation, childcare, digital literacy, housing insecurity, or past criminal history., • Develop individualized action plans to address these barriers and track progress toward employment retention., • Facilitate access to job readiness training, soft skills workshops, resume building, and interview preparation., • Provide ongoing post-employment support through check-ins and resource navigation to reduce turnover and improve job satisfaction., • Organize community workshops, informational sessions, and awareness campaigns to inform the public about available employment and support services., • Act as a communication bridge between the organization and the community, ensuring that both parties understand each other’s needs and capacities., • Provide referrals and warm handoffs to community resources such as housing assistance, health services, legal aid, and educational programs., • Track engagement, employment outcomes, and barriers resolved using data management systems., • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Community Development, Human Resources, or a related field (or equivalent experience)., • 2+ years of experience in workforce development, case management, or community outreach., • Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills., • Familiarity with issues impacting employment such as mental health, reentry, homelessness, and economic disparities., • Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable learning client database systems., • Bilingual or multilingual abilities highly desirable. Preferred Skills: • Trauma-informed and strengths-based approach to service delivery., • Experience working with marginalized or underserved populations., • Knowledge of local workforce systems and employer landscapes., • Frequent community visits, including travel to job sites, partner organizations, and community centers., • Occasional evening or weekend events., • Office and field work required.
