Job DescriptionPosition: 1:1 Registered Nurse Setting: School Discipline: Registered Nurse (RN)Location: Northern New Jersey (Varies by School) Pay: $50.00 – $52.00 per hour Schedule Options: Monday – Friday, Day Shift Employment Type: Per-DiemAt Sunshine Home Health Services, we are seeking a compassionate and dedicated New Jersey–Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to provide one-on-one nursing care to medically fragile children with complex healthcare needs in a school setting.This per-diem role offers a consistent weekday schedule, providing direct nursing support to students to promote their health, safety, and academic care in adherence to New Jersey State Board of Nursing regulations, as well as agency policies, federal and accreditation standards, under the direction and supervision of clinical management staff. • Monitor and document the student's health status throughout the school day., • Collaborate effectively with school staff, families, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, high-quality care., • Administer prescribed medications, treatments, and therapies as ordered by the physician., • Be prepared to recognize and respond to medical emergencies promptly with appropriate interventions., • Apply proper infection-control practices and maintain a safe environment., • Complete timely, accurate, and concise daily clinical documentation according to the plan of care., • Notify the supervising RN Case Manager of any changes in the student's condition or care needs.Qualifications, • Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing Program., • Active New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) License in good standing (required)., • Minimum of 1 year of pediatric nursing experience (preferred)., • Experience in school nursing, community health, or one-to-one pediatric care (a plus).Certifications / Licenses, • Valid New Jersey RN License (required), • Current CPR/BLS Certification (required)Skills & Abilities, • Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills., • Proficiency in managing pediatric conditions, including ventilators, tracheostomies, oxygen therapy, feeding tubes, urinary catheters, and ostomies., • Solid understanding of pediatric disease processes, medication interactions, and emergency response protocols., • Ability to provide compassionate care to children of all ages and diverse backgrounds.Physical Requirements & Work Environment, • Ability to remain on school premises for all scheduled hours., • Ability to accompany and remain with the assigned student during school-related activities, including field trips and transportation on the school bus., • Capability to assist with student mobility, positioning, and transfers as required., • Able to lift at least 20 lbs. and move/carry medical equipment as needed.Why Work for Sunshine?, • Consistent weekday schedule – no evenings or weekends., • Caring and supportive work environment., • Opportunities for professional development and continuing education., • Flexible patient location assignments., • Competitive pay, plus referral and sign-on bonuses., • Comprehensive benefits: Medical, FSA, HSA, Life Insurance., • Generous paid vacations, sick time, and holidays., • Perry Rewards recognition program with coins and e-gift cards.Why Join Us?At Sunshine Home Health Services, we take pride in delivering trusted nursing services to schools, ensuring that students receive the continuous care they need.
