Job Description In this hands-on job, you'll work on all kinds of machines-inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing welding equipment, including electrical boards and engine components. You'll use tools, follow repair manuals, and rely on your mechanical and electrical know-how to get the job done right. HOW YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE The Repair Technician will inspect, troubleshoot, evaluate, and recommend the best way to properly repair welding equipment in a manner that meets or exceeds the manufacturer's operational guidance and safety. This individual will use their knowledge, established methods, procedures and techniques to repair welding and associated equipment. CK SUPPLY CORE VALUES: Please read slowly these are non-negotiables and we are going to ask you about them in the interview! • Driven - Hardworking, Dedicated, Dependable, Desire to be the Best, • Passionate - Positive Attitude, Appearance, Pride, Love What We Do, • People-Oriented - Honest, Respectful, Trust-Worthy, Integrity, • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair and maintain welding machines and associated equipment according to blueprints, catalogs, data charts, and technical knowledge, • Rewire electrical circuits as needed, • Disassemble and reassemble machines using hand tools, welding and brazing equipment, and measuring instruments, • Perform research to inquiries as necessary, • Set up and operate repaired equipment to confirm accurate repair and operation, • Exhibit courteousness and professional image to customers, • Perform estimates of repair for service equipment, • Make independent decisions effecting quality of a repair, • Assist in Warehouse and other departments as needed, • Follow and enforce all safety guidelines and requirements including proper personal protective equipment for employees and visitors, • Adhere to the CK Core Values through behavior and words, • High school diploma or equivalent, required, • Technical School training preferred with an emphasis in mechanics and electronics, • Must be capable of passing test certification from two or more of the following companies within 24 months of hiring, i.e.: Miller, Lincoln, ESAB, OTC, Koike, or Hypertherm, • Must have extensive knowledge of mechanics and electricity, • Preferred knowledge and/or experience of welding processes, • Must be able to maneuver all equipment and tools, • Ability to read and comprehend vendor repair manuals and instructions, • Ability to count and write to accurately take inventory count and complete necessary paperwork, • Ability to perform heavy work routinely lifting up to 75 pounds and occasionally lifting 76 to greater than 100 pounds, • Ability to communicate and interact well with others, • Ability to work overtime and some Saturday hours as needed, • Must be able to stand for long periods, • Must be able to frequently stoop, twist, kneel, bend, and climb ladders, • Ability to operate and use all equipment, • Ability to work independently with little supervision Headquartered in St. Louis, MO, CK Supply Inc. has been the definitive source for metalworking and gas related technologies for over 75 years.
