Job Description JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Maintenance Technician FLSA: Non-exempt DIVISION: Services-Facilities REPORTS TO: Facility Manager LOCATION: Various, NYC SALARY: $21.63 per hour SUMMARY: The Maintenance Mechanic, under the direction of the Facility Manager, performs all necessary interior and exterior facility repairs, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry work, of a NYC DHS contract shelter facility. The mechanic keeps the facility in good working order using troubleshooting techniques and performing repairs as needed. This position requires good judgment and understanding of industry standard repairs, code requirements and worker safety. Position may require some evening and weekend hours. Proof of Covid-19 vaccination is required. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ● Escorts outside contractors, vendors and inspectors and accepts deliveries as needed. ● Responsible for all repairs not requiring a licensed contractor. ● Troubleshooting and repair (light electrical and plumbing work) of outlets, switches, light fixtures, drain lines, sinks, tubs and toilets.
