Block is looking for a Lead Product Designer who will be responsible for shaping the customer-facing product experience for homeowners navigating one of the most complex purchases of their lives. You'll use AI tools to turn design ideas into working prototypes, contribute to production through pull requests, and build the design systems that make our product feel cohesive and intentional at every touchpoint. Responsibilities • Own the end-to-end design of customer-facing experiences—from early concept through shipped code, • Prototype in code using tools like Claude Code and Cursor. You'll go from rough idea to working prototype in hours, not days. Figma is part of your toolkit, but your instinct is to build something real before creating something static, • Collaborate closely with engineers in the codebase—iterating on designs, pushing pull requests, and working as a peer rather than a handoff partner, • Build and maintain our design system within our codebase — not just using Figma libraries, • Partner closely with Product Management and Engineering to shape squad goals, scope work, and deliver against our ambitious roadmap, • Advocate for the customer in every conversation — grounding design decisions in real user needs, not assumptions, • Contribute to design crits and product reviews, maintaining a high bar for quality and consistencyQualifications, • 8+ years of product design experience, with meaningful time spent shipping code — not just handing off designs for engineers to build, • Comfort with modern frontend development—React, Next.js, or React Native. Job Description H&H is seeking a Load Rating Engineer to join the firm’s New York City Asset Management team. This position supports the continued expansion of H&H’s bridge inspection and structural services in response to growing client and project demands within the structural and transportation markets. The Load Rating Engineer focuses on hands-on project delivery, performing bridge load rating analyses to support inspection programs, new designs, rehabilitation efforts, load posting decisions, and overload permitting for a diverse public agency client base in the New York Metropolitan area and beyond. Responsibilities • Perform Level 1 and Level 2 bridge load rating analyses using routine and refined methodologies, • Conduct load rating calculations using LRFR, LFR, ASR, permit vehicle, specialized hauling vehicle, and non-standard loading methodologies, • Prepare load rating reports and technical documentation incorporating inspection data, as-built information, material properties, and deterioration effects, • Utilize AASHTOWare Bridge Rating software for integrated load rating workflows, • Perform refined and advanced analyses using three-dimensional finite element modeling tools such as CSiBridge, SAP2000, or similar platforms, • Coordinate with bridge inspection teams, structural engineers, project managers, and agency stakeholders to integrate load rating results into bridge management and rehabilitation strategies, • Review field inspection data to validate modeling assumptions and refine analytical inputs, • Apply engineering judgment in accordance with the latest AASHTO Manual for Bridge Evaluation, FHWA guidance, and state-specific requirements including NYSDOT standards, • Support quality control reviews of load rating models, analyses, and deliverables under the guidance of senior technical staff, • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering, • Professional Engineer license required in New York; additional state licenses preferred, • Minimum of five years of structural engineering experience with emphasis on bridge load rating, inspection, or design, • HWA-approved comprehensive bridge inspection training preferred, • Proficiency with AASHTOWare Bridge Rating software strongly preferred, • Experience with three-dimensional finite element analysis tools such as CSiBridge, SAP2000, or similar software, • Strong understanding of AASHTO LRFR, LFR, and ASR methodologies, load posting, and permitting requirements, • Demonstrated ability to apply engineering judgment to routine and refined load rating analyses, • Familiarity with NYSDOT standards and regional public agency clients preferred, • Strong written and verbal communication skills Salary range — $115,000-$150,000 annually.
