Job DescriptionJob Title: Licensed Electrician Job Description This role supports the Lead Electrician in an industrial power plant setting by installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting high-voltage electrical systems and auxiliary equipment. The position focuses on safe and reliable operation of plant electrical infrastructure, accurate documentation, and collaboration with other electricians to ensure consistent, efficient plant performance. Responsibilities • Support the Lead Electrician with inventory management using a computerized inventory system., • Identify and communicate materials, tools, and equipment needs for electrical work across the plant., • Assist in training other electricians on plant procedures, equipment, and safe work practices., • Maintain and update plant electrical documentation as required., • Install, remove, maintain, repair, test, and operate plant electrical equipment, including but not limited to exciters, motor-generator (M-G) sets, electrical system control and interlock control systems, indoor and outdoor lighting systems, station battery and battery charging systems, public address systems, and plant communication systems., • Install new plant systems and subsystems such as conduit and raceways, fiber-optic cable, phone systems, computer interface systems, plant paging and phone systems, switchgear, and lighting., • Operate, when requested, to remove from or return to service station loads associated with 110 Vac through 115K-Vac and 120-Vdc switchgear and bus systems, following established procedures., • Monitor and report any unusual electrical or equipment conditions promptly., • Act as an inspector of work when electrical contractors provide plant electrical support, ensuring compliance with standards and specifications., • Develop and maintain familiarity with all electrical equipment within the plant to support effective troubleshooting and maintenance., • Maintain the Continuous Emissions Monitoring System (CEMS) in full compliance with plant procedures and protocols., • Use the computerized maintenance management system to support work management, including planning, tracking, and documenting maintenance activities., • Troubleshoot electrical issues efficiently to minimize downtime and ensure safe, reliable operation of plant systems.Essential Skills, • Current journeyman electrician license., • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills in an industrial or power plant environment., • Hands-on experience with high-voltage electrical systems and equipment., • Proficiency in installing, maintaining, and repairing industrial electrical systems, including conduit, wiring, and switchgear., • Ability to read and interpret electrical circuit diagrams, one-line diagrams, and panel diagrams., • Strong understanding of power plant circuitry, equipment layout, and switching procedures., • High level of skill in the operation, installation, removal, maintenance, testing, and repair of power plant auxiliary electrical equipment., • Experience with electrical maintenance in industrial or construction settings., • Ability to work safely around high-voltage equipment and follow established safety procedures.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience working in an industrial power plant or similar heavy industrial environment., • Familiarity with public address and plant communication systems., • Experience installing and maintaining fiber-optic cable and computer interface systems., • Comfort using a computerized inventory system to manage tools, parts, and materials., • Experience using a computerized maintenance management system to document and manage work., • Attention to detail in documenting work, reporting unusual conditions, and maintaining compliance-related systems such as CEMS.Why Work Here? Work may involve navigating plant areas, working at various heights or in confined spaces, and responding to operational needs as they arise. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Boston, MA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $117728.00 - $117728.00/yr.
