Job DescriptionWarehouse/Gate Operations Clerk Pay: $19/hr Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday, 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM Job Description: The Warehouse/Gate Operations Clerk is responsible for ensuring all shipping-related documents are completed accurately and in a timely manner. This role includes significant gate clerk responsibilities, serving as the first point of contact for drivers arriving and departing the facility, and supporting smooth yard and gate operations. This position reports to the Operations Supervisor or Manager. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: • Acts as a gate clerk by greeting, checking in, and guiding drivers upon their arrival and departure., • Controls access to the yard by verifying driver credentials, shipment documentation, and distributing entry/exit paperwork., • Communicates daily via email with outbound carriers, providing schedules for shipments and equipment needs., • Shares essential information with site personnel across various communication methods to ensure operational requirements are met., • Uses a warehouse management system to open/close shipments and prepare accurate bills of lading for outbound freight., • Ensures drivers depart with all appropriate paperwork., • Maintains accuracy of shipping documents by following standard operating procedures., • Collects, enters, and maintains all data and records related to shipping in the warehouse management system., • Assists in resolving discrepancies as needed., • Supports material handling duties including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, or loading., • Monitors trailer capacity and works proactively with spotters on trailer moves., • Assists leadership with other administrative duties as required., • Files outbound paperwork for easy accessibility., • Maintains the seal log and load board with accurate and updated information., • May communicate specific work assignments such as appointments, doors for loading, or items to be picked., • Performs other tasks as assigned.Mandatory Skills:, • High School diploma or GED required., • Experience in a fast-paced warehouse environment., • Previous gate clerk experience or knowledge of yard/gate operations preferred., • Experience with Manhattan Warehouse Management System preferred., • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)., • Ability to handle changing priorities; exercises good judgment in high-pressure situations., • Detail-oriented with good visual acuity and finger dexterity for inspecting shipments and data entry., • Proficient with data entry to create daily inventory reports., • Accurate record keeping, and skilled in sorting, checking, counting, and verifying received items., • Strong time management, organizational, and planning skills; self-motivated., • Bilingual in Spanish preferred, but not required., • Experience with, or desire to learn, Material Handling Equipment (MHE).Other Requirements:, • Flexibility to work irregular or extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed., • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment., • Ability to stand or walk for 10–12 hours at a time., • Must be able to lift and move totes weighing up to 50–100 pounds., • Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching, both below the waist and above the head., • Frequent walking within facilities, which may be over a quarter mile in length., • Comfortable working in environments with varying noise levels, lighting, and temperatures, and able to access all areas of the building without limitations.This position is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, enjoy working with drivers and logistics teams, and excel in both administrative and gate operations within a warehouse setting.
